I can't bath my pets

Hi okay, so i have this problem i can't bath my dog when it needs a bath,if i say give bath then my sim only picks up the dog and then stand in one place and after a few minutes my sim puts the pet down.I had the same problem in my previous game and started a new one to see if it will work it still doesn't work so if you can just check it please.
