In the Selvadorada World, the first portal to temple does not allow access to the Ruins.
Sims clears the first portal roots and branched to Jungle Ruins and completes mini quest, but Sims either get stuck in portal or is bounced back out.
Afterward, I tried to "Travel Through" but the Sim only waves it's arm as if something is in the way.
My system is not running any mods.
Otherwise, I have not noticed any other problems.

this can potentially happen when some random Sim left a bike on the other side.

Could this be your issue ?
I checked the pre-mentioned thread about a bike showed up but I see no bike. When trying to reenter, I have see in the thought bubble show a mound of dirt over sims head. I still have no idea on how to unblock the portal. I am playing a normal game.
The bike might be on the other side so you don't see it.
Would you be willing to share your save with me ?
