I am trying to complete Alice's Sorrow Quest. I have to talk with Freddy, which is one of her kids but I can't select the "Ask about Alice’s Sorrow" option. It's not active on Freddy, so I can't continue the task.

I have the exact same problem, despite playing without any CC/mods. I started the challenges with the two sims of my household, went to Alice, found Deimos with both easily. When I wanted to proceed and talk to Freddy it, it only worked with my female sim. My male sim couldn't talk to him, the button was grey. I wanted to continue at least with my female sim, but when she interacted with Ann's grave, nothing happened. She was stuck with the "Find Ann" task.
I closed the challenge, talked to Alice again for several times, but it still does not work at all, with neither!
EDIT: Playing on a PC, btw.
I am also having this same problem. I don’t have any mods and I am playing on PC. I already Asked Alice about her sorrow but I can not go any farther with either Edith or Freddy as the next step in the quest is grayed out and does not recognize that I have already completed the step. I tried to use another sim in my household to complete the quest but the same thing happened. I also can not go back and ask Alice again bc it is grayed out with her as well. This has also resulted in me no longer being able to explore the crypts. Please fix. Ty
I also can not advance in the Ghost Historian aspiration.
I don't have mods and it is happening to me. On one sim it has the quest progress to Edith and has the option greyed out for her and the other sim is stopped at Freddy. I've tried abandoning the quest and asking Alice about her sorrows again, but it doesn't help.
Me too! I tried to perform the task with two different sims so I wouldn’t have to back track and now I’m stuck.
