married sims showing up as half-siblings

after the feb 3rd update, i was checking out the family tree update until i realized that my married sims that i have been playing for a year now is marked as half siblings. before the update they were both just normal married sims and after theyre related?? one of the sims has one parent while the other doesnt. could that be the reason? but even if that is the reason i cant do anything about it since they are both elders.

it showed that my sims with no parent has a unknown parent AND her husbands father as her father (if that makes sense) and i also have a sibling for the husband too. I also didnt raise them in the same household since i made them as young adults when i first started that sim's family.

I tried to do "C+CTRL+SHIFT" and "cas.fulleditmode" cheat and tried changing their relationship but the game wouldnt let me change it and it only had "household member" listed in it.

I also tried using MCCC command center to fix the relationship but it was just not working

lasty, i made a copy of the save file and i removed all married sims and their childrens etc and put them back in again. I fixed it at first and showed that they were married but when i reopened the game again, it showed them as half-siblings again.

(also it cant be any of my mods, knowing that i only have mccc downloaded and used to have ww but had to remove it since the mod didnt update yet.)

even if i did fix it it sometimes would say like 3 children are related to their father while the other is related to their mother. and sometimes it would say that my married sims's wife is related to the married sims making her and her husband siblings. idk how EA messed that up bruh.

idk if this is a common bug or something but this definitely has never happened to me. im disappointed in EA for messing this up. it wasnt even that big of a family tree but its the fact that i worked so hard to make that tree. also.. i found it kinda disturbing at the fact my sims are now half-siblings..

if anyone found a solution for this PLEASE i beg for help bro. i do NOT wanna remake my sims' family again in a new game. this game is for real gonna be the death of me

sorry. the 3rd to the last paragraph was suppose to say

"sometimes it would say that my married sims's children's wife is related to the married sims making my sims kid and his wife related" (if that even makes sense LOL)

my bad for wording it wrong

I would like to join this geneological apocalypse party too!

Saves that were previously fine are now showing this error - and I checked files going back to pre-December patch saves to make sure it wasn't something I'd missed.

In my case, a Sim who was adopted (by the epic Mitchell Kalani) married a first-generation townie. The 'unknown parent' for the 2nd gen Sim and the 'unknown parent' for the 1st gen Sim appear to have the same token, so they're now half brothers, and can't have the fun times they used to. Their kids still belong to both of them, they still have romance and friendship relationship scores, satisfaction, romance dynamics and sentiments, but their marriage appears to have been annulled.

Creating parents for the 1st gen Sim won't work. I can create one parent, but can't assign two. Bringing in MCCC won't work, because the 'unknown parent' is just a token, not an actual Sim we can delete relationships with. Because this is a geneology issue, not a relationship issue, deleting relBits doesn't have an effect.

Is this another 'don't touch the pre-patch save file until we release another update' situation, or can we continue to play and hope it'll be fixed soon?

I'm having the same problem and I'm actually pretty devastated by it. Its a relatively new save, they are currently engaged and just had their first child. Everything says this glitch is common if you had a science baby/cloned sim/etc. I didnt do any of those things. They had a baby the old fashioned way. I dont even use mods so its not from that. In fact, I actually did dl MCCC simply to fix this issue and all it did was change them from full siblings to half siblings. Nothing I do is fixing it. I would love a solution!! At this point, I'm thinking about pulling away from the game. This is the second time this has happened (the first time was after the faerie update. Again, I dont typically use mods so I just abandoned that save).  It's hard to get invested in gameplay only for a glitch to destroy it.
