I'm having the same issue, and I have no mods in my game (and it is also a new save). I tried having her sit on the couch, bed, and rocking chair, as well as trying to resume knitting while standing. I cannot frog projects, which is frustrating since I don't want to clutter up her inventory with unfinished projects.
