NPC Sims wear random cold/hot weather outfits not assigned
Townies keep walking around in randomly generated outfits even after I have modified them in CAS and hand-selected each outfit category. Example... townie was walking around in Nordhaven in "random" cold weather wear that I did not select. I had to shift-click and force him to change outfit. The "random" outfit isn't even an option in CAS. Don't know where its coming from.
On my side, no Thrifty Tea Shop was placed. However, I found that the outfits were the default ones before I made edits. So it's like the game doesn't care about changes and keeps showing the ugly clothes that it generated in the first place.
But yeah, sometimes "outfits" made at the bubble tea shop can be ... awful, and for a reason that we may never understand, random Sims kinda love these. -_-'
I don't know if this is relevant, but... If you have HSY Thrifty Tea lots can generate some pretty sensational outfits. You don't need to visit the lots to see this, any Sim (your's or NPC's) generated in the area can be effected. These outfits can persist, but - like situational outfits - they usually work their way out. I play rotationally and sometimes find my Sims dressed in wild outfits. I figure they're just being "Trendi" - Sorry.
Saw this too! But on my side, it's affecting ALL NPCs (even the weird random-generated ones to fill community lots). I'm speaking for myself, but on my side, it doesn't appear on their current outfits. It pops from nowhere (see attached). I don't know if it helps or not! ;)
(PS: This character is a part of the "Karaoke Legends" pre-made townies from City Living, the roommates).
I have just experienced a new bug since the patch last week (Feb. 18th). NPCs keep changing cold/hot outfits in my city. I manually assigned them clothes, but no... they prefer ugly generated clothes instead.
I was playing on an old save, so I created a new one. And the issue is still there! Of course, I removed all the mods I had and repaired the game as well, and… the bug is still there.
I don’t know what to do. I looked online if someone else had the same issue as I do, but I only saw a thread from up to 5 months ago, and some were opened 6 YEARS ago!
Thanks to those who will read this and help me find a solution.
| EDIT: I'm on Mac (OS 15.3.1), the Game is up to date, EA App is Updated. Mods were removed, a new save was created without and the issue is still there. It's only on NPC (for now). It's happening on new NPC generated by the game, ones that I've downloaded from the gallery and ones that I've created for the save.
Here as we can see, the outfit that he's wearing doesn't exist. And this character is fine. But if you're a good player, you know how generated CAS outfits can be awful.
Hi! Just saw your post and I'm currently having the same issue as you. Incredibly, in 5 months the bug is still there. If you find a workaround for this, I'd be happy to know!
TBF, I seldom play pre-made townies, so I can’t say for sure if the outfits would be there if I played that household, but there were several instances where my fashion photographer got them into CAS using the Plan Outfits for Fashion Subject interaction and the randomized outfits were there alright.
I’ve never seen this with my Sims, but several of my pre-made townies (like Joaquin Lechain and Sergio Romero) have been showing up with weirdly randomized outfits. The instances I noticed this were of Cold Weather outfits during Winter; the randomized outfit had overwritten their default in the same category.
