I'm also experiencing this after the 12 May update.

All packs except vampires and werewolves
Steps to reproduce:
1. Edit a Sim in CAS
2. Select an item to change like shirt or pants
3. Choose ∞ (Show All)
4. From here, you'll see the only thing you can do is adjust your filters. You can't scroll, there's nothing selected and it doesn't automatically pop you to the piece your sim is currently wearing.
Expected behavior: if the Sim is wearing an item in the displayed results, the view should take you to that piece in the right frame and you should be able to navigate up, down, left, and right through the options from there, and select an item to equip.
If your sim isn't wearing a piece from the selection on the right, the top left most item will be pre selected, but the navigation is the same as above
It looks like the work around OP mentioned doesn't work if the Sim is currently wearing the specific item type (for example, if my sim is wearing a long dress, I can use all the filters like skirts, sets, etc without issue, but if I select long dresses, I get the behavior described when you select Show All.
Please note: This is a really impactful bug that is causing a really poor user experience and is actually preventing a basic function in the game that will lead to many disgruntled Simmers
