I was wondering if anybody else has had this issue or currently has this issue. I was playing all morning without issue until I updated. Now anytime I try to open my game and load up a save it acts like its a new save (I have to select my save through the load save option), It takes me to the selecting a season and a world, and the lots look like the picture below. I removed my mods folder, deleted my local thumbnail cache file, and repaired my game through the EA app with no success.

Update!!!! I might have found a solution. So I tried a solution that I used for a different problem last year. I found out from a very old forum post that sometimes the game version text file in your game folder doesn't update correctly. The solution I found that worked for me is that I opened my game and on the bottom left of the home screen it has some numbers, that is the game version that the sims is trying to run on. You're gonna take a picture or write it down then go to document>Electronic Arts> Sims 4 then you're going to look for a txt file called game version. make sure that the numbers are exactly the same as it is on the home screen of your game without the "DX11". (for some reason mine had Japanese or Chinese characters in them instead of numbers???) then you're going to save the file. After that my game seems to be running fine. I hope this works for everyone who seems to be having this issue :)
mine is also in japnese letters with a question mark. Did you just delete the text and rewrite it as it shows on the game screen before saving?
This doesn’t work at all. Also I noticed when I log into the game and then I start playing it’s like my sims freeze and then I can’t select other buttons and I can’t even exit out the game without forced exit. Which is the end task
And update from me i switched back to DX9 from DX11 and my save’s opened and everything is working my game is laggy but it’s working so maybe that will work for y’all.
I was having the same issue!! Neither of the other solutions worked for me but I noticed a windows notification when my game was loading that windows security was blocking part of my game. I had to go into windows security and turn off Smart App Control and my game started to work again! The notification is quick to miss. I hope this helps anyone else
