Simply delete the game version in the Sims4-Documents file and it will reset. Important for those using the ConfigOverrides file: its contents may block game entry. Empty it and restart the game.

I have the version listed in unknown characters, so I need to view my version using Notepad++. This has never prevented my game from opening. I regularly delete the game version before launching my game. This is just a small fix that may help some people. For others, good luck. I have W11 and my game opens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.😉
