Pets blacked out

This bug has been reported before and labeled as "fixed" but it is still happening. From CAS, pets look normal but from viewing the household on the maps/world view the pets show up as void black. No mods, no CC, all updates installed. Assuming this is related to the custom paint tool because they have custom fur, but it seems to be affecting the pets every time I open the game- no restarting or resetting helps.
