Photos/Paintings turning black/blank (after 1.102.190/1.82)

Ever since the patch that came out around the time Business & Hobbies Released, every reference painting my sims make will be completely blank when I log off from the save/game and re-launch. It'll still retain the name (if I've named it) and the value, but its just a white canvas. 

This happens in every save (new and old) and its getting very frustrating as I use portraits for a lot of my legacy playthroughs. Note: the reference paintings that were completed before that update/patch are still fine. Its just affecting new ones.

I've even tried saving the paintings by placing them in a room and uploading the room to my library/gallery so I could place them when I came back to the game....but they are still blank even there. Cleared my cache, started new saves, even re-downloaded the whole freaking game and its still happening.

I don't use cc or mods, and I haven't yet purchases the last two packs (B&H, Outdoor Adventures).....the game content I've downloaded semi-recently have been a couple kits with no gameplay adjustments.
