I think the prom event was supposed to be fixed and it was for 1 prom and now it quit working again. No mods or cc (except what I got from marketplace) and everything is updated. When the patch fix came out my sim got the call to go to prom and it worked, but the next week there was a prompt for getting together but prom never happened. I play on an Asus Tuf Gaming F15.

Could you please provide the following information
Never had cc or mods. Although I have recently bought a few packs from Marketplace.
It works the first Saturday of the save but not any other time after. This has happened in 3 different saves.
Prom does appear in the calendar for every Saturday but I only get the prompt for the first one.
I am still getting invites to the pre prom get together but no prompt for the prom itself.

Was yours all the same one ?
I only play one household and one Sim so it was the same household (each save) but there is only 1 teen Sim and a pet.
