I am also having this same issue after the most recent patch, with or without mods or CC. I have repaired the game, cleared my caches, let game create entire new Sims 4 folder, and removed saves folder and let game create a new one. After clearing the caches it works for awhile; however I end up getting same error again. I can also save as and use different names, but as others have said this is quite a pain.
