Sims 4 DLC Installed but Showing “World Not Installed” In-Game

I’m experiencing an issue with The Sims 4 where several DLC packs show as installed in the EA App but are not recognized in-game.

Affected Packs:

  • The Sims 4: Horse Ranch
  • The Sims 4: Realm of Magic
  • The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff
  • The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs
  • The Sims 4: Get to Work

Issue Description:
In the EA App, all listed packs show as owned and installed. However, when I launch the game and go to the world map, the associated worlds (e.g., Chestnut Ridge and Glimmerbrook) display the message “World Not Installed,” and the content from those packs is unavailable.

System:

  • Windows (HP laptop)
  • EA App (not Origin)

Troubleshooting Steps Already Completed:

  • Restarted the game and computer multiple times
  • Repaired the game through the EA App
  • Cleared cache files, including:
    • localthumbcache.package
    • EA App cache directories (ProgramData, AppData, LocalAppData)
  • Fully uninstalled and reinstalled the affected packs
  • Verified that pack folders (e.g., EP14) exist in the correct install directory
  • Confirmed install path consistency between base game and DLC
  • Temporarily removed Mods folder to rule out conflicts
  • Ran EA App as administrator
  • Checked and corrected folder permissions
  • Verified Windows Security/Defender is not blocking files
  • Performed a full uninstall and reinstall of the base game and add-ons
  • Forced re-detection by removing and restoring pack folders
  • Tested in a brand new save file

Current Result:
Despite all troubleshooting steps, the game still reports “World Not Installed” for the affected packs.

Additional Update:
The issue has expanded and now also affects previously working expansion packs, including The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs and The Sims 4: Get to Work. These packs were functioning before but are now also showing as “World Not Installed.” This suggests a broader entitlement synchronization issue rather than a local installation problem.

Request:
Please check and refresh my account entitlements for these packs, as this appears to be a synchronization issue between the EA App and the game client.

Thank you.

Hey, I was having the same issue. Please try activating the packs through the marketplace, it seems that the latest update deactivates them by default.

You can access it from the main menu > marketplace > my collection > pack selection. After selecting the packs, it will ask you to restart and when you open sims 4 again the packs should be available.

    Hope this helps :)
