Sims' CAS (outfits, hair) resetting after travel

I am starting a new thread from one that was reviewed 9 months ago as this has recently starting happening to me again.

My sims were created by another simmer (they were a match in Cupid Corner), but I have since updated them in CAS, Whenever I travel to a lot the sims' outfits, hair, makeup etc. reverts back the sims' original outfit. It has happened for every lot I've travelled to.

The only way to solve the problem is to select 'Modify in CAS', close CAS and go back to live mode. This only temporarily solves the problem as it reverts back again the next time they travel.

I do not have any mods (I never have) and my save file is fairly new.

I ‘repaired’ the game and it didn’t fix the issue.
