After installing the new update to fix the trash drag issue and for the new Natures calling event, my Sims do not finish their work shift and are automatically sent home after my other sim completes travel. They won't complete the works shift if I travel with another SIM and will only be paid for an hour of work. If I don't travel they will complete their shift though.
Here is the solution:
You have to finish the entire event and this bug will stop happening. The UI Cheats mod will allow you to click through the event without actually having to complete the tasks.
