Sims leave job/school after another sim travels

Whenever I go to work with one of my adult sims or go to open their small business, the kids return from school. They don’t stay there until 3pm. I’m not sure how to fix it and it’s driving me nuts

Is anyone fixing this? For about 3 days now I can’t play anymore. As soon as a sim goes to work (detective /doctor/scientist), any kids or spouses at school or work come home. Also happens going into CAS or one of them  den trying to travel to another lot. I’ve been playing for months and no mods. Been fine till now.  Only happened in the last week. And I don’t recall any updates. Worse is I’ve just got some new expansions on the sale and now I can’t play at all. With the money off spent this is not acceptable. 

I have a family of four sims, three adults and one teenager. For some reason, whenever a sim travels to a new venue, any sims in this family currently at work or school comes home and can't go back to their job for the day. I have a few mods installed but none of them affect careers... Can anyone help me?

When one household sim travels, any other sims that were at school or work return home. I have 3 sims in my household. One wanted to travel while the other two were at school/work. Once my traveling sim reached her destination, the other 2 automatically came home from school/work. There are no toddlers or infants on my lot. All household members are adults. I don’t use mods or any CC. 

So I've been playing for probably around 3 or 4 years and took a huge break over the last school year, so I'm not sure if this is just me not remembering correctly or an actual issue but:

Whenever I have household sims at school or work, but still have a sim or two left behind at home, I cannot travel without it canceling all of the sims at school or work and bringing them home.

Example: My current sim just graduated University and she lives with a roommate. The roommate was at work, and my sim had her graduation ceremony, so I brought her to the grad ceremony and as soon as I loaded, I got the notification that the roommate "Returned home from work" after only being gone for an hour.

Is this a me issue or ???

Since the update, if a sim travels from home to another lot, it brings those at work/school home early. A last exception didn't show up when I replicated the issue.

Whenever it's time for my sims to go to school/work, they are only there for an hour/come back from work or school when I change lots. This has never happened to me before and am wondering if it's a bug or something?

When I change lot, all the sims at work just leave early. 
When my sim wife go to work, I send my other sim to Glimmerwoods (The magic place) or anywhere else. When I get there, I receive a popup telling me she came back home early and get paid for like an hour.

I play on PC with no mods

Recently my game is encountering a bug where my sims will leave for school or work, and if my active sim at home leaves or any loading screen basically comes up for any reason, when it gets back to the game everyone that left for school or work comes home. The game does not show under the business/school tab that they are missing it. It says “work in 20 hrs” or what have you. I play on PS4, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the game already. No mods or CC. I understand I could easily just not let my main sim leave during the day to keep the glitch from happening, but that’s a little annoying. Any advice on the fix? I read multiple things about it being caused by changed the phone skin on your sims phone but I’ve never done that, as I honestly forget that feature exists.
