Sims stops writing/resume books

Here is the archived thread. EA_Cade​ had asked for a save file on that thread, so see above for the save I uploaded.

This has been a bug for years. I gave up thinking they would ever bother fixing it. If you scrap the book then start a new one it will work about 70% of the time. If it doesn't get rid of the usual cache files and repair your game. I find that biography, sci fi, and mystery bug out most often. I'm having trouble with motivational books borking out in my current save though.

I'm having this same issue. Occasionally, putting the computer in the household inventory works, but not always. I tried all the workarounds as well, and nothing works consistently

My sims keep trying to write books, but when they get about halfway the action cancels and I can’t keep writing the book. I’ve got no mods or cc installed

I've looked online to see if there have been similar issues and I saw many were experiencing this over 7 years ago, and it still hasn't been fixed, even though it was claimed it was. I cannot complete the Ghost Historian aspiration because of it. My sim will stop about 80% though and will not resume it. I'm tried debugging, a new computer, starting a new book, but they won't even finish the second book either. I really don't want to cheat my game at this time. I just want this fixed.

I'm trying to complete the Ghost Historian aspiration by writing 3 Horror books. When the Sim is standing up, she will sit down at the desk to use the computer, but will not use it and the action to resume writing disappears.

Have been experiencing this a lot the last...year(s)? Sometimes I think it's connected to the title and description of the book, but not really seeming to matter today when two sims are trying to finish their books. Sometimes it helps keeping that sim active, but not always it seems today. The "progress circle" on the interaction goes to full in a second and they rise without writing, or write a shoooort while and then I find them doing something else. It's been like this for many different sims no matter which save or household.
