I've been playing in the same save for a few weeks now, through multiple generations. I'm currently on Gen 6, going into 7. I don't usually look super closely at my sims' features, but when I entered CAS today to give my triplets their teen makeovers, I suddenly noticed that one of them has pointed ears. It's pretty subtle, but they're definitely pointed, and sure enough when I clicked on them, one of the pointed ears were highlighted in the menu.
There are no occults in my sims' family tree and I've never given any of them pointed ears, but when I pull up old save files from previous generations from the gallery, almost all of them show this same weird bug (?). Key word here is "almost". The founder does not have pointed ears. Her husband, however, does. Now, I'm not blaming Virgilio Capp. I would like to, but once I found that every single previous heir (and their spouses) all share this issue, I became even more curious and started pulling up unrelated sims.
I found Alex Moyer and figured she'd be a good test since she's been around for a long time, and sure enough, she has pointed ears selected but not showing. Then I checked the babysitter who has dutifully been helping the Savage family since at least Gen 3, Gabriel Casillas. Same thing. Finally, I found Raheel Kunal, and to my surprise, he has normal ears. Not sure what's going on with this, but it's very odd.
I have screenshots of all the sims I pulled up to check, 23 pics total. On this post, I have attached the current heir (Tilly) and her spouse (Mia), their daughter who made me realize what was happening (Rey), Gen 5 heir (Georgie) and her wife (Honey), the founder (Rosalie) and her husband (Virgilio), and the three test sims (Alex Moyer, Gabriel Casillas, and Raheel Kunal).
I play on PC with MCCC and a fair amount of CC for both CAS and build/buy. I have all expansion packs except For Rent and Enchanted by Nature, and I have quite a few game packs and kits as well. I tried closing the game and removing all mods, then started a new save file and placed my current household. Ears are still "pointed" despite them being naked and bald, and when checking the founder, she still has her normal ears. Checking the Capp household, the bug remains for Virgilio and appears for Celeste and Beatrice too, but not Tybalt. Alex Moyer also remains impacted, and Raheel continues to have normal ears both visually and in the menu. I'm unable to verify Gabriel Castillas as he is a randomized nanny sim. (If I'm wrong on this, please let me know!)
