Sims unplayable after exiting build mode

I have a had a bunch of issues after the last couple of updates and after installing For Rent, and I wasn’t sure which of those things caused the issues. One of the biggest issues is that often when I exit build mode and go back to live mode, I can no longer control any of the sims. All of the control panels are gone. If I exit to manage worlds, the screen goes black. The only way to fix it is to completely exit and then go back in. I tried uninstalling For Rent because I wasn’t sure if that was causing the problem (it caused a bunch of other problems and was unplayable but that’s a whole other conversation), but even without that pack this is still happening. Is anyone else having the same problem?

    If you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.

    Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't use any mods or cc. It has also just started leaving out the tracker on the upper left hand corner that shows progress in events whenever my sims leave their home lot.

    i’ve never had this issue before but playing today after restarting the ea app i’m dealing with this issue. i even shut down the game and restarted and i’m still having this issue. i think it could potentially be to do with the game itself. i don’t have for rent so it can’t be because of that

    isamumu1​  Are you getting a lastUIexception.txt in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4?  If so, please provide it here.  Either open the file and delete its first line of text, then attach it to a reply; or copy the text of the file and paste it into your reply.

    Please also let me know whether you're currently playing a scenario.

    cerysw_29​  Are you seeing a black screen when exiting to the Main Menu as well?  Please say so either way, and also provide a lastUIexception, as described above, if you're seeing one.

    So I checked and yes, I have 5 lastUIexception.txt files. I pasted the first one below. I'm not sure if they're all different, so please let me know if I should attach all of them. I was playing a scenario, but I just completed it. I haven't left the lot or done much since the scenario finished.

    I don't believe so. The free event is also really messed up for me, but even when I travel I can't control my sim anymore and I need to exit and go back on to continue playing. Also, I was not playing a scenario. I've tried playing three different saves and one crashed after playing for about 5 minutes.
