Sims Won't Woohoo or Try for Baby

The bug I'm experiencing makes the game practically unplayable. I do not play with mods or CC. Once my sims gets to the second generation, or any after (in any save) woohooing or trying for a baby just resets the sim. I have tried woohooing/ trying for baby on all the different furniture, and they won't. This makes it that my sims will not have a baby, so to continue generations I just have to keep having science babies or adopting. I do not like this, as I enjoy playing the legacy challenges, and it makes the game basically unplayable because my families just die off after the original generation. I have tried breaking up with the partner sim, then retrying, as I saw that that was working for others, but it did nothing for me. This started happening when I bought both the lovestruck and life and death packs (I bought them together).
