Small Business owner invites your sim to come over, still considered customer

Okay, I can understand that the title may sound confusing. From the best that I can summarize it: my sim's best friend is Nia Sarpong, the small business owner. She adopts a baby and asks my sim if she wants to come over to say hello. When I accept the invite and load into the Spilled Neon lot, it still flags me as a customer, not someone there to visit as a friend. I can't find any option to knock on the front door of her place upstairs because it says it's off limits to customers. I know it's something small and honestly not that concerning to me, but I thought it was interesting enough that I'd like to bring attention to it.
