Whenever my sim(s) are single to start with the bed belongs to my sim (no popup saying This is <sim name>'s bed when hovering over sleep).... when they get into a relationship the bed is automatically flagged as the other-half's bed... why?
just want to know this logic of why the game assuming the bed isnt my sims, but my sims spouses (or other-half)

could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing ? Do you mean the bed assignment ?
Are you using mods/cc in your game ?
this is what it shows when i hover over sleep, but both sims are assigned to the bed

what i expect it to do is just be sleep and not saying its owned by another sim, unless this is intended?...
to me its like going into a restaurant then claiming the table that you sat at for a week straight is your table in the restaurant and no one else is allowed at that table, instead it would be logical for it to not have a popup saying its <sim name>'s bed

A single bed can not have two assignments it belongs to the last one you assigned to it just as in a restaurant if someone reserved a table it will have a sign that it is reserved and later it can be reserved by someone else Double beds have assignments for left and right side respectively..
I've never seen this pop-up

EDIT: I think the game can only display one name and maybe it's the one of the Sim that was sleeping in the bed last ? Unless you can't use the interaction, I don't really think it's a problem.
I had this too. I had a couple (not living together) they woohooed in the bed then that bed CONSTANTLY said this is the girlfriend’s bed (when my sim the bf went to use it) but she didn’t even live there! It only went away when the gf died from old age 🤷♂️
it is a double bed, so if i click on x side it says its one sims then the other side vice versa?
as i replied to jpkarlsen its a double bed, so yes im able to use the interaction, so its normal to display the name of the sim if i click on either side?
I think that particular tooltip is for the whole bed and since it wasn't set up for two Sims, it either just picks either or the last person that used it.

How is there no fix for this yet? No matter what family I play, no matter what double bed I use. I have sides assigned, it always says "This is <sims names> bed" and the other keeps popping out of bed when I try to get them to sleep. This has happened with at least 5 of my families. Surely others are having this issue/bug as well. This has occurred ever since Lovestruck came out.
I don't think anyone reported the tool tip in the right place. (see my post).
The other issue has a thread in bugs you can add your voice too.
