Trees in several worlds displaying very low-quality LOD at short distances

[Tested on a fresh The Sims 4 folder, new save, no mods installed]

In Gibbi Point, particularly in one specific distric, the pine trees are rendering in extremely low-quality LOD models, even when the camera is quite close. This happens despite the game being set to ULTRA graphics. Other worlds that use similar pine trees do not have this issue, which makes the visual experience here noticeably worse.

It seems to be some kind of problem with the LOD configuration for these specific pines. This happens despite the game being set to ULTRA graphics. Other worlds that use similar pine trees doesn't have this issue.

What makes it even stranger is that along the bay coast, when looking out from the pier, you can clearly see these same low-quality pine trees. Yet, right next to them, there’s another tree and a different type of pine that display normally with a higher-quality LOD. The contrast is very noticeable (the low-quality ones are marked with a yellow arrow, while the ones rendering properly are marked with a red arrow).

Overall, the visual quality of this district in Gibbi Point is very disappointing. For players running the game on ULTRA settings, the graphics should look much better than this.

I just had this in sylvan glade with the forever friends event. I was about to exit the game to start troubleshooting but the trees went back to normal after saving (regular save not save as or exit and save)

I've seen this off and on, but only in Sylvan Glade. I'd thought it was an issue with the trees there.

  • I'm playing beside the Sylvan Glade tree and I notice it flattens and becomes one dimensional in the game and detail decreases. You can rotate around the tree and it will completely disappear on the side view. I have noticed this with other in game/world trees as well. This doesn't affect harvestable tree's.

They left out this file (and the fire tower files) when loading LODs and just never fixed it. Huge issue, easy fix

  • Recently, Lilsimsie herself noticed those low-quality trees while playing. At first, she thought it was just a delay in loading the higher-quality versions, but the trees never improved. She found it quite strange, especially since it was snowing, and the low-quality snowy LOD of those pine trees looks pretty bad when the camera is that close. She even commented that it looked really odd.

  • This has happened to me at Camp Gibbi Gibbi as well! I hope this gets fixed soon the world is too beautiful to have issues like this :(
