Unable to finish baking birthday cake

Running the Proud Parent Scenario with a ghost who had to adopt a baby to run the scenario.

Sim repeatedly tried to make a birthday cake for the baby's birthday into toddlerhood, but the Sim would stop after mixing in the bowl, but would not go further. I was going to try in the morning, but the Sim had to go to a noontime audition. After a third attempt to bake the cake, it's now past midnight with the baby sleeping.

Was hoping to help feed a cake slice to the baby before aging up to the next life stage.
