MamaSimmerPlays I did some testing with the glass roofs. I see what you are talking about. I do see that some light comes through the roof, just not very much. It's like glass with a heavy tint from what I can tell. How sunlight works in the game may have something to do with is as the it changes depending on the time of day, weather, season and the size of the room. It isn't the light level one would expect with a clear glass roof on a bright sunny day. I tried all the clear roofs and didn't see any real difference in light levels in the room other than the shadows changed on the walls to match the grids in the roof. And I did not see those shadows on the ground. Strangely, when I put in a floor tile, those shadows show quite well. The room also brightened up nicely with a floor in place. That leads me to believe that the ground doesn't react to light levels, etc.
One thing I found that you can try is to use a grass floor tile. That might give you the light level you are looking for.
