New Spectator

Whenever I select the travel option, I am prompted to choose a season to play in

This has started since I downloaded the businesses & hobbies pack, but I remember I first used the travel option and the prompt to choose a season wasn't there. choosing a season does not change the actual date or season, but it is weird because I chose a season to play at the start.

I took out the mod folders from my game but I still have this issue completely base game.

how do I fix it?

I saw someone mention that this could be a bug that the Sims Team introduced with their discovery quests. I know this is an older post, but if anyone sees this or has this same issue, try disabling discovery quests (including Trashly's intro to Businesses and Hobbies) and see if that works.
