why won't the kid go to school?

so when playing the game it keeps saying that the kids have two sims days till they go to school and even after the two days pasted it still says two days till school. It don't change even after the two days. I don't get a notification that they have school in a hour. They also don't get any new homework. They just stay home all day. But they still go to the after school jobs. Then the adult doesn't go to work either it keeps saying 3 days till they have to go to work and still doesn't go after the 3 days are up. The work task doesn't reset either. I also don't get a notification that they have work in a hour. I have tried to reset the game. I also have tried to repair the game and nothing has fixed the issue.
