Writer's Block moodlet not showing/Sims refuse to write for no reason

The issue I'm having is that my sim sits down to write a book, the progress wheel fills up fully, but the book is never counted as finished. If I try to resume writing these books, I get a "fizzle out" sound and the direction disappears. This happens 4 out of 5 books with the odd one completing. 

I've tried repairing the game, changing the computers in build/buy, reloading the lot. The only other report thread that seemed to be the same or similar issue was marked "fixed" so I've started a new thread.

My sim can't finish writing, too.

No cc, no MOD

Same issue...no CC...no MOD...just my sim struggling to finish writing books...and I've tried all the suggested fixes (trying to finish the book at the library, locking the doors to not be interrupted, restarting the game/load file, getting into a different mood, leaving it for awhile and trying again, etc.) and nothing seems to be working

Yep, I've tried restting my sim and her computer, buying a new computer, sitting in the chair first, restarting my game, and have started other books to try to finish one, but she just fills up the progress wheel without actually finishing the book and refuses to do more. It's really frustrating because this is her aspiration and the way she makes money and fame.

Ran into this twice today. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, the only thing i can seem to do is scrap the book and start over. It's been making it hard to finish the Ghost Historian aspiration since i have tried and failed to write the necessary final horror book twice now. No writer's block, no creative burnout. Like, I had one fail just now, then went to write another book, (children's so it would take less time) that completed and then went back to try and finish the first one and it failed again, so there is definitely not anything going o that is stopping him from finishing books in general, just THAT one.

I saw another post about this from months ago but didn’t see if there was follow up on this issue. 

My sims write the entire novel, then stop. I try to make them go back to finish it, but they just sit down at the computer and get back up again. Without that, the sim can’t complete the Ghost Historian aspiration. It’s been an issue across several saves now.
