[XB] Mixed languages for "guest" profiles.

Context : XBOX Series X - version 2.20.4.2300

Hi,

We play on my (main) console which is configured in French.
On this console, we have two player profiles :
- One is mine, the main one that is used for purchases,
- and the other "guest/familly" one for my wife.

We can both launch the game, there is no licensing issues. We each have our own separate profiles and saves. When we launch the game, it displays the home screen, then asks which player profile we want to use. It works fine, except for one thing.

When I use my profile, the game is completely in French.
But when my wife's profile is used, the game is half in French, half in English.

We tried several languages, and the problem also appears in all worlds (not just Innisgreen as shown in the screenshots below). It's a general bug, not specific to [EBN].

For her, the game is in French, except for :
- the names of the predefined families
- the names of the places.

For example, I have the "Bar à cocktail l'étoile" while she has the "Starsong lounge".
But of course, the description is in French for both of us.

And it's the same for households.
I have the "Songedété" family, while she has "SummerDream".

I'm sure this bug has existed since the beginning of The Sims 4, but has never been reported. It's also likely that it gets few votes, despite being a major bug.

To see this, you have to use several profiles on the same console (which is quite rare) and also use a language other than English.

Please preserve harmony in families 😇.

    Heya MetalVoice62520

The in-game language is typically determined by the language set on the Xbox profile. What language is your guest profile set to on your console?

  • Hi EA_Solaire ,

It's the same on XBOX 😉. For all profiles, the language is set to French.

The problem isn't that the game isn't in French for the "guest" profile. Overall, it is. All the menu text, the interface, the help, everything is in French. Except: the family names and the names of the places, which remain in English.

This is clearly a bug and not a configuration issue.
