Xbox- best friends being acquaintances

hi i play on the xbox, no mods or cheats as i want to get the achievements.

my sims has had a friend since he was a kid and he is a young adult now and they are best friends and have the green bar maxed, but it says in his profile that they’re just acquaintances. i’m trying to complete an aspiration, but i can’t because this is getting in the way. i already went back to save, got off the game and came back.
