Unable to Play Zero Hour
I am unable to load my Challenge progress in Zero Hour - whenever I try to the loading screen comes up for the General vs General but then it immediately says "Defeated". I'm playing the game through the EA App and it's the full licensed version of the game (no cracks, illegal copies etc). I've never had an issue until went to play it today (save file is from 4 month ago), when the game closes I get a prompt that some files are corrupted and the app offers a repair. 5 times I've repaired so far and still it's a problem. I've already attempted the license key "fix" of adding the dashes into the default key under HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour\ergc but that hasn't fixed it. I've also tried modifying my options.ini file as I've seen in places online but still no joy :-( EA doesn't seem to offer support for this title according to the list of games to raise issues with via their site so I'm hoping that someone can advise what is going on and how I can fix this...
Time for a new C&C Remaster
Hello EA Games and hello fellow C&C fans! The C&C Remastered Collection was a success for EA, both loved by gamers and also sold very well. Just this year C&C The Ultimate Collection went live on Steam and immediately got into the top 20 most popular steam titles where it held for like a month EA's surprise megadump of classic Command & Conquer games means Europe's March game sales were dominated by 25-year-old RTSes, beating WWE 2K24 and Nintendo (article by PC Gamer) It's been 4 years and complete radio silence from EA on the future of C&C as a real RTS game on PC and console, where the series belongs, no offense to mobile gamers. The demand for say a second remastered collection with Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun or Generals or who knows maybe a completely new title is there and it's real. People on the C&C communities in Reddit and Facebook still ask about it regularly although they're beginning to doubt if we'll ever see something. The release of C&C Ultimate Collection on Steam this March and the huge success it was made fans hopeful that this actually means EA has not forgotten about the series and was planning to do something with it. The guys at Petroglyph and Lemon Sky who did the first remasters have said they're willing to do it again, the community wants it, the games sell well, what more is needed? We're eagerly awaiting to hear back from EA Games as we always have been throughout the years. I know-how that you don't want to improvizat rise of the reds because îs oleacă but I would watt to help you create simering masterpieceful. These are my ideas: If you want money, you should improve the engine like the unreal one . Also you should change the graphics for a better success. If is too hard, the AI like chatgpt can help you. If you want to make something good but ROTR is not good I can give you an example, epic games risked with fortnite but it was a success. Plecase don't ignore me!!! Good byeCan't Start the Game.
So this game was one of my favourites growing up. I suddenly remembered the game and downloaded it to play through the EA games app. INow the problem is that (after running the patch as well) the game doesn't start. Just the starting pop up screen shows and than Generals.exe is not responding. I would love your help if someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.. I have twice deleted and reinstalled but the same problem is persisting. Any help would be appreciated
C&C Generals 2
Did you know EA had C&C Generals 2 ready for over 10 years now? I was in a closed beta testing group for this game, and I loved the game so much! It was the best RTS, imagine GLA in homemade copters. SO many generals to choose from. I played it everyday with my friend. The game was pay-per general model, but it was VERY good, more units then generals 1. I dont understand why they dident release it. The game was finished, EA just needed to put it out there, and it would earn alot of money. Still to this day im thinking about the game, even though it was over 10 years ago. If you guys dont believe its true, just check my screenshot. Would you buy C&C Generals 2 today? Even if it had payed battlepass or pay-per-general? The game is finished so they could release the game if they wanted. Show EA that it would be cool and write your comments on what you think.
Offline play.
When I purchased the cnc games I was Not informed internet access was mandatory to play any of these games campaigns, skirmish requires no internet online or other features that don’t require online access. This is EA security measures stopping these old games working correctly but they can just blame uses pc and keep the money well those with no connection to internet no longer have access to games they paid for. Most of these cnc games do not require internet connection. Iv followed ever path to try get original cnc working with zero success. Tiberian war/firestorm doesn’t work. Ut add a patch and it does st& , generals/zero hour require online access to start. Should have kept all my cd versions at least then I could call them my games All these downloads are not uses games even if you paid full price EA APP own them and we pay for that.!!!CnC Generals asking to sign in to EA account
My Father has been unable to play this game due to this issue for the past 6 months. The game loads up like normal, but after a couple of seconds, it tells him to sign in again with his EA account and fails to log him in after he puts in his correct username and password. Are there any solutions to this? My father all but gave up on trying to fix this. This game is his favorite, and he has been really bummed since this issue occurred. I have been playing Command and Conquer for many years. I have the complete CD ROM collection. And I just recently got a new gamming computer (laptop) with no CD ROM, and I had to download the EA app to punch in my codes so that I could play without the disc's. Since then, the China mission 7 is missing a lot of material! It is missing the way up the hill on the left side to the oil derricks plus it's missing the snippers that i could rescue and use along with the 2 spies in the radio stations! How can I get all of that back? Thank you for your time!
Command & Conquer Generals and Zero Hour Crash(and burn)
Saturday, August 30, 2025 8/30/25 4:49:09 PM Command & Conquer Generals and Zero Hour. I have repaired and repaired and repaired, but I keep getting the same error after the "splash" screen. [DirectX Error] "Please make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or Higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the Min. requirements."... I have checked: I have DirectX 12 installed, and have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. Also: Please excuse my flagrant attempt to get my issue noticed a third time, because I have issued a "Report" twice now for this issue. This is not the first time I have had problems with Command & Conquer games, so please forgive my hesitation in believing they will address this problem quickly.
