Laptop for sims 4
Hey everyone! I’m looking for advice on which laptop to pick. I’ll mostly use it for everyday stuff — Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, web browsing, watching movies/TV shows — and occasionally for The Sims 4 (maybe Sims 2 or 3) with a bunch of expansions, mods, and custom content (around 15 GB total, with about 80% being CC). I don’t really play other PC games — I have a PS5 for that — so this laptop doesn’t need to be a full-on gaming machine. I just want something future-proof that’ll last me several years, and I’ll probably use it around 10 hours per week. Of course, I want good value for the price too. Here are the options I’m considering (all prices in PLN): ⸻ 💻 Lenovo IdeaPad Slim — 4100 zł • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS (8C/16T, up to 5.1 GHz) • GPU: Radeon 780M (integrated) • RAM: 24 GB DDR5 (dual channel, maxed out) • SSD: 1 TB PCIe 4.0 • Display: 16”, 1920×1200, IPS, matte, 60 Hz, 300 nits • Battery: 50 Wh, up to 14h, USB-C charging • Weight: 1.81 kg • Build: Aluminum, MIL-STD-810H ✅ Great processor, solid build, but basic display (only 45% NTSC) ⸻ 💻 ASUS Vivobook — 5200 zł • CPU: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 • GPU: Radeon 860M (integrated) • RAM: 24 GB LPDDR5X (soldered) • SSD: 1 TB • Display: 16”, OLED, 2880×1800, 120 Hz, 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3 • Battery: 75 Wh • Weight: 1.5 kg ✅ Gorgeous OLED screen, great battery, lightweight ❌ RAM not upgradeable, a bit pricey ⸻ 💻 ASUS TUF — 4350 zł • CPU: Ryzen 5 7535HS (6C/12T) • GPU: RTX 4050 (6 GB, 140W TGP) • RAM: 32 GB DDR5 • SSD: 1 TB • Display: 16”, 144 Hz, 300 nits • Weight: 2.2 kg ✅ Great performance for the price, powerful GPU ❌ Heavier, shorter battery life ⸻ 💻 HP Victus (Intel) — 4550 zł • CPU: Intel Core 5 210H (8C/12T) • GPU: RTX 5050 (8 GB GDDR7) • RAM: 32 GB DDR5 • SSD: 1 TB • Display: 15.6”, 1080p, 144 Hz, 300 nits ✅ Strong performance, future-proof GPU ❌ A bit bulky and heavy (2.29 kg) ⸻ 💻 HP Victus (Ryzen) — 3850 zł • CPU: Ryzen 7 7445HS (6C/12T) • GPU: RTX 4050 (6 GB) • RAM: 32 GB DDR5 • SSD: 1 TB ✅ Great specs for the price, solid GPU ❌ Slightly older CPU ⸻ 💻 ASUS V16 — 4600 zł • CPU: Intel Core 5 210H • GPU: RTX 5050 (8 GB GDDR7) • RAM: 32 GB DDR5 • SSD: 1 TB ✅ Powerful, modern GPU, solid display (16”, 144 Hz) ❌ 1.95 kg, battery not the biggest ⸻ 💻 Dell Inspiron — 3850 zł • CPU: Ryzen 7 8840U • GPU: Radeon Graphics (integrated) • RAM: 32 GB DDR5 • SSD: 1 TB ✅ Lightweight (2.1 kg), decent CPU, aluminum lid ❌ Weak integrated GPU, basic display (250 nits) ⸻ So… which one do you think is the best choice for my use case? Is it worth paying more for the ASUS Vivobook with the OLED screen, or should I go for one of the gaming models with a dedicated GPU (like HP Victus or ASUS TUF), even if I’ll mostly just use it for everyday stuff and Sims? Any thoughts or personal experiences would be super appreciated 🙏[LD] Kids With Grim Aged Up with Scrunched Faces/Body
Ive been playing a new save since Life and Death came out, no issues up until recently. My sim had twins with the grim reaper, and since aging them up to a teen (this might've been an issue before but i didn’t notice it until they became teens), their faces and bodies change after going through a loading screen (quitting or traveling). Their jaws move as far up as possible, their ears and eyes get smaller, their waist, legs and shoulders go as far in as possible.. It’s ONLY my teens as i've edited another teen (plus have an adult in the household) and no issues.. Ive repaired my game, updated mods, tried saving them to the gallery/re putting them in my game, resetting them, turned mods off and had the same issue, NOTHING is working! Not sure if maybe its a glitch having to do with them being Grims kids..? added before and after pics to see the difference.. Do you guys know what causes this preset bug where the Sim looks completely different in live mode, as if no preset was applied? It only happened with this Sim — I have other Sims with presets and didn’t get this bug. Even this Sim’s height slider isn’t working. I updated all the presets and sliders with Sims 4 Studio, but it still didn’t work. All of my saves are gone
So, when I was installing new mods I've noticed that they don't show in the game entirely, which led me to an amazing decision. I have the Mods folder on my desktop, and when I checked the folder in Electronic Arts section, I've noticed that they don't quite match. I decided to just paste all the mods in the EA Mods folder, and when I load the game it's completely empty now. The saves folder contains some saves, but they don't load. I've tried removing mods completely, cleared the cache, it doesn't work. When I add mods back they don't load too Would really appreciate any advice on how to fix this... It's alright if I'll lose all the data, but it would be pleasant if I could restart with my mods back.Need help with broken mods...
I keep getting this last exception report and I can't figure out what it means. I've updated every mod I can think of and deleted mods that I could not update but I still get an error message. I also cannot download anything from the gallery nor like anything in the gallery. Someone please help as I cannot play my game at all. <?xml version="1.0" ?><root> I looked through the compiled list of bugs and didnt see this on there, so if i missed it and it's on there, oops! Anyway, I'm so tired of having to delete every single computer in the house simply because it's allll my sims want to do. It's the same issue with having a bar on the lot. I know that was "fixed" in an update a while ago at this point but it's STILL an issue for me, it never stopped being an issue. My main issue is the computers, but the bars is also still an issue, my sims make themselves alcoholics.
