Sims obsessively use objects
I looked through the compiled list of bugs and didnt see this on there, so if i missed it and it's on there, oops! Anyway, I'm so tired of having to delete every single computer in the house simply because it's allll my sims want to do. It's the same issue with having a bar on the lot. I know that was "fixed" in an update a while ago at this point but it's STILL an issue for me, it never stopped being an issue. My main issue is the computers, but the bars is also still an issue, my sims make themselves alcoholics. Note by crinrict Some Excessive use objects currently tracked in this thread (list not complete) Computer (general) Phone Bar Dance Listen To Music Destroy Doll House Play Woohoo Thumbs Up! Game Radios Cross Stitch Spaceship Teapot Yoga Mat Meditation Stool Coffee Machine Pressure Cooker Ball [SV] Conspiracy stall Please also just don't put anything in here. This is about object usage. A lot of issues have their own threads already. Would be better if you actually upvoted these like the water/juice/coffee/Tea drinking here: Excessive Drinking (Water, Juice, coffee, tea, ..) (Patch 1.58.63) | EA Forums - 4966133 Please check the compiled list as I really don't have the time to list them all currently7.6KViews788likes105CommentsSims won’t clean up dishes and will only do one item if told to do so
Recently my sims have stopped clearing away plates and glasses autonomously. If I click on a plate or glass and click ‘clean up’ they will clean up only that single item, they have stopped gathering all of the dishes to clean up in one go. Even when I hire a maid they don’t gather up and clean the dishes. This means there’s constantly smelly dishes all over the house, unless I individually clean up every single one. Note from EA_Solaire: Hello all, If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)? If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file. Instructions can be found here: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/information-how-to-send-user-files-to-the-sims-4-team/5048472 If you are using mods, please also let me know which mods specifically you're using, and if you're seeing this on a new save file as well. Thanks!1.8KViews395likes24CommentsMakeup section grayed out for toddlers
Like the title states, after the latest update the makeup section is grayed out for toddlers only. It wasn’t like this prior to the latest update. I use mods and cc and the makeup section is how I apply eyes, eyelashes, and natural lip colors to my toddler sims. All of my mods have been updated for the latest patch. Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you fix it? The pictures below showcase the makeup section not working for toddlers but working just fine for infants.19KViews242likes83CommentsSim not responding immediately task/action
If i give my sim an action/task (for example, taking a shower) the action/task just stays in the waiting line for minutes and they don't respond to it even when i set the speed to 3x. They don't do it directly, only after a few minutes.1.4KViews212likes44CommentsExcessive Drinking (Water, Juice,...) (Patch 1.58.63)
Sims drink too much water in their free time. Sims will feel pain when going to the bathroom. instead of going to the bathroom Sim instead drinks water. It makes you feel more pain when you have to go to the bathroom. Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title Note: Seems we actually have a thread for tea pot too. Please use this thread for tea: Sims excessively ';Grab a Drink' with 'Tea Magic Personal Brewer'; after brewing | EA Forums - 118822421KViews124likes16CommentsWelcome Wagon not taking place
For some reason I didn't get any "Welcome Wagon" anymore even with a new save file created (I try to see if it was just one save, but not). I don't have all the packs of The Sims 4 and yes, I do use some mods but I didn't think that it has something to do it because even when I play on Playstation, I didn't have "Welcome Wagon" either. Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title1.1KViews111likes25Comments[LD] Kids With Grim Aged Up with Scrunched Faces/Body
Ive been playing a new save since Life and Death came out, no issues up until recently. My sim had twins with the grim reaper, and since aging them up to a teen (this might've been an issue before but i didn’t notice it until they became teens), their faces and bodies change after going through a loading screen (quitting or traveling). Their jaws move as far up as possible, their ears and eyes get smaller, their waist, legs and shoulders go as far in as possible.. It’s ONLY my teens as i've edited another teen (plus have an adult in the household) and no issues.. Ive repaired my game, updated mods, tried saving them to the gallery/re putting them in my game, resetting them, turned mods off and had the same issue, NOTHING is working! Not sure if maybe its a glitch having to do with them being Grims kids..? added before and after pics to see the difference.. Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title to fit old report.3.5KViews104likes45CommentsCan't see color of arm bracelet due to zoom
With this change you can't see one of new bracelets from the Businesses & Hobbies pack while picking a color, so you have to pick a color then switch to another category so it zooms out for you to see it then click back on bracelets to change the color etc etc This is a nice add, for zooming in and seeing it but it needs to let us zoom out while in the same category Edit By Crinrict: Added Tag to Title, Adjusted Title Removed asset again since it affects all arm bracelets from any pack1.1KViews48likes7CommentsCURRENT ISSUE! Malicious Script Mods and Other Malware
CURRENT INCIDENT: Malicious ts4script files in multiple compromised accounts on Mod the Sims and an 18+ site, beginning March 1, 2026. Posts with full details: March 1, morning March 1, afternoon March 2 Multiple Mod the Sims accounts compromised. Malicious ts4script files have been uploaded to multiple mods, including to mods/CC that should not have one. Delete immediately and run a full-system malware and virus check. 18+ website also compromised. If you have recently downloaded an 18+ mod from an 18+ website and you don't use ModGuard, check if you've been infected with malware: Look in your Sims 4 install location for a file called "out.exe" (or "out" if extensions are hidden). Do not run the file. Do this: Delete the file Delete recently downloaded 18+ mods Empty your Recycle Bin to permanently delete them Run a full virus and malware scan Change your passwords See see the section in How to Use Mods and CC about "Safe Simming" for advice on how to avoid downloading compromised files. Download TwistedMexi's Modguard mod (from his website or Curseforge) to help protect you from the file you thought was okay, even after being cautious. ***************************************************************************************** January 2024 Incident Beginning as early as mid-January 2024, we began seeing Sims 4 script mods with malicious executable .exe code hidden in them. The mods masqueraded as being from existing creators or from a brand-new creator with a name similar to an existing one. In one known case, it appears that a creator’s account was hacked to update the creator’s own mod page. These mods also presented themselves as being previously existing mods. (Mac users: Because this is .exe code, it won’t affect you, but may produce LEs.) Mods known to have been compromised "PimpMySims4" (impersonated) – Cult Mod – was on Mod the Sims; now removed MySims4 – "Social Events - Unlimited Time" – was on Curseforge; now removed MSQSims (hacked) – on The Sims Resource, Feb. 5-8; all removed Mood Cheat Menu Motherlode Menu Seasons Cheat Menu Weather Forecast Cheat Menu PlayersWonderland (hacked) – Mouth Preset N16 ts4script file – on The Sims Resource, now removed V1 of an adult mod, with a January file date – on LoversLab How to check your system for the January 2024 malware To see if your system has been affected by the malicious code: select Windows-R In the window that opens, type this: %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\UserData In the folder that opens, look for files called Updater.exe and/or Main.exe. If you are affected If you had one of these files, assume that any sensitive data on your PC may be compromised and take the steps below: Clear your system for this specific virus. (See below.) This must be done FIRST. If you have the Discord app or a cryptocurrency wallet app, uninstall them. This is important if not obvious: Starting these can trigger an attempt to reinstall this malware. Change your passwords. Add two-factor authentication where available. If you had saved credit card or similar information to a web browser, remove it and find out from your financial institution (or other relevant site) what action to take next. Reinstall Discord and cryptocurrency wallet apps from fresh downloads. Learn more about keeping your data secure in the future: https://answers.ea.com/t5/EA-Services-General-Questions/Answers-HQ-Online-Security-Newsletter-January/m-p/13449052/thread-id/447422 To clear your system: Download this fix created by Maxis mod-host partner Curseforge: SimsVirusCleaner Double-click the SimsVirusCleaner.exe file in your Downloads folder tor run it. This is a good time to run a general virus/malware scan on your computer. More things to know Curseforge and The Sims Resource updated their file screening for this method of malware inclusion. Type of mods affected: The least likely mods to be affected were mods that are only .package files and mods uploaded by mod creators on Patreon or their own sites. Most Sims 4 mods are not script mods and aren’t doing anything requiring a ts4script file. Downloaded folders: Assume that any folder containing a collection of mods might include a compromised mod containing code that can steal your passwords, your banking info, and much more. Do NOT download and install these collections. If you have done so at any time since mid-January, check your system. New prevention/detection Sims 4 tool: TwistedMexi released a tool called ModGuard. April 2024 Incident [April 7, 2024] Malware via a mod that downloaded as only a text file with a link. Known cases: "S4 CAS Tools" on Nexus from user fubruss (the real mod is on Mod the Sims, from the late CmarNYC, dated 18 March 2023) “Loading Screen Randomizer” on Nexus from user fubruss (the real mod is on Mod the Sims, from Tesuto , dated 9 January 2024) Do NOT follow the links in text files. Do NOT download other files or follow links from this user. No legitimate mod download will EVER consist of only a text file (a file ending in .txt). If you downloaded either of these, delete them and run a virus scan. NOTE: This type malware does NOT require that you run the game for it to install itself, and is not what ModGuard is designed to detect and stop. November 2024 Incident On November 5, 2024, on Mod the Sims, someone uploaded malicious versions of at least four mods. Unlike the earlier incident, no new accounts were involved, and one of the accounts breached was TwistedMexi's. No other compromised mods were found. It is not yet known what the effect of any malware included or called up was, so assume it's very bad. What to do If you downloaded any mods with .ts4script files from Mod the Sims on November 5, delete the mod and run a virus scan. If you don't already have it, download TwistedMexi's tool ModGuard. It will not protect against all possible script-file exploits, but it will help. Note that your other system protections cannot see what's in a .ts4script file. April 13, 2025 incident Some SimFileShare CC compromised Do not download mods from SimAndy or TheNinthWaveSim or Pixelunivairse mods/CC from SimFileShare. The accounts are compromised. Files present include an executable (.exe) file presumed to be malicious. If you downloaded files from these creators after about April 11, delete them and run a virus scan The owner of SFS has removed all known compromised files, and SFS is permitting file uploads again. Please remain cautious about what you download, especially files that were updated in early April 2025. March 2026 incident Multiple Mod the Sims accounts compromised. Ts4script files uploaded, including to mods/CC that should not have one. Files contents clearly malicious. If you downloaded any ts4script files from Mod the Sims beginning March 1, 2026, delete immediately and run a full-system malware and virus check. All compromised files have been removed. An 18+ mod-hosting website is also compromised. If you have recently downloaded an 18+ mod from an 18+ website and you don't use ModGuard, check if you've been infected with malware: Look in your Sims 4 install location for a file called "out.exe" (or "out" if extensions are hidden). Do not run the file. Do this: Delete the file Delete recently downloaded 18+ mods Empty your Recycle Bin to permanently delete them Run a full virus and malware scan Change your passwords Current Impact of Incidents on Mod Update News Updates of mods/CC hosted only on Mod the Sims are on pause. - updated March 2, 202657KViews42likes20Comments[HOW TO] Find and remove bad custom content (CC)
Index What is this thread about What is bad CC? How do I get rid of that CC ? How can I avoid CC I don't want? Where is the CC installed that I see in my game FAQ Disclaimer: All links and tools mentioned in this thread are not supported by EA and you'll be using them at your own risk. What is this thread about? A lot of Households/Sims/Lots contain custom content (CC) that is either bad or that you don’t want. Some of them are very hard to find in the launcher for they look nothing like the picture you see in CAS and unfortunately you can delete them in CAS directly. There are methods, tools and lists around that can help you find and avoid this CC . The intention of this thread is to give you links to those and help you if you have problems understanding them. This thread is not for spoon feeding you every step that has already been stated. If you have trouble understanding something, be specific in your questions. This thread is also for helping you with CC that is not listed anywhere and that you can't find. Please check the available lists first before posting and if you feel up-to it, try the method described below to find out yourself. My time is limited and I have many other projects, so please do me the courtesy and READ before posting. Thank you. Up↑ What is bad CC? Bad CC is Custom Content that harms your game. One should distinguish between unwanted and bad CC. Unwanted CC is CC YOU don't like but others very well might want while bad CC is content no one should use for it can harm your game. There are the following kinds of bad CC: CC that is categorized for too many age groups and both genders CC that is categorized for wrong ages and/or naked CC that crashes/freezes your game CC that causes the blue lot issue Clothing that colors on other parts (only listed in German, see the FAQ for more info) CC that hides in other CC Tight Arms (unsure if still an issue, only in German) CC hair that looks terrible (not listed, FAQ) CC windows/doors that crash the game since LN (not listed) CC that comes with Sims Simply badly done CC (not listed) CC that was made before patch 1.26/Pets and was never fixed (not listed) There's also CC that likes to attach to everything you upload whether you use it or not but there are so many of those that I can't list all of them When putting CC in your game, always remember that corrupt CC can crash your game, slow it down and maybe cause your launcher not to work properly. Up↑ How do I get rid of that CC ? Please refer to this blog post for information on that How to get rid of unwanted Custom Content How to find a certain download in your Launcher Downloads that are attached to Sims directly How to keep a Sim but get rid of the CC it came with Game Help:TS3 Finding Problem Custom Content Up↑ How can I avoid CC I don't want? When you download something from the Exchange, always use the Add To Game button and not Save as. Save as corrupts the thumbnails and you can't install the stuff. Add to Gamewill no longer install the content automatically so you can check it before installing. Check all Households/Sims/Lots before you install them. There's a tool called Custard/CleanInstaller by Delphy that can help you check your stuff. Instructions can be found here: Delphy's Custard For Package-Files there's another tool called Dashboard, also by Delphy that can pinpoint you in the right direction: Delphy's Dashboard Both tools can only help you with some errors. There are many errors that can't be detected. If the tools say it's safe, that isn't necessarily true. Up↑ Where is the CC installed that I see in my game All CC can be found in Documents\ElectronicArts\TheSims3. There are two different kinds of CC. Packages and Sims3Packs. Sims3Packs are the only ones that show up in your launcher. Packages are installed a different way. Please check this thread for details: How-To-Install CC/Mods "The New Way" Guide This thread is mostly about Sims3Packs. Sims3Packs are containers for package files. When you double click on such a file a few things happen: - The Sims3Pack gets copied to the Downloads folder and then shows in Downloads in the launcher - The Package-Files inside (they all have long numbers) get unpacked to the DCBackup folder. They do almost nothing (see FAQ below) - The Package-Files inside get compressed together and installed to the files *.dbc (or *.ebc for Store). Files that are installed here, show up in your Launcher. For further info on your user files, check this: User Files Explained You could, in theory, move the Package-files from DCBackup to the mods folder and use them like package files but a lot of Package-Files are bad for your game performance so if it weren't for the launcher, Sims3Packs are actually better to use than package-Files.
