Mouse Look Stutters / Jitters When Pressing Keyboard Buttons | Potential Fix
Potential Fix: One of the causes for this problem relates to having MSI Afterburner or Rivertuner Statistics Server running while the game is up. Just close the program and it might end up helping you out like it did me. If it doesn't, maybe try other similar software that might be running on top of Battlefield 6 like these applications did. Link to Reddit post talking about the same problem and providing the potential fix: https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/1pk5e2g/weird_bug_tapping_keyboard_keys_while_moving/ ~~~ A lot of other people have pointed out that the problem is tied to EA’s anticheat, and that it’s happening in other games even outside of the franchise. Some people have commented their own solutions like “Launching the game from the install folder and EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher” or “going offline on every platform you use to run the game” or “pressing the 4 - 7 most used buttons on launch” to make the button presses not trigger the stuttering issue. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if a whole lot of unique things are causing this issue across a bunch of different setups. If you still need help, try poking around the comments section and take a look at other people’s suggestion's. For me, turning RTSS off completely fixes both the mouse stutter and text box issues, but not everyone having this issue has MSI Afterburner or RTSS installed. Someone mentioned the Jayztwocents “Stuttering in Games FIXED… This might fix yours too!” video but that issue isn’t dependent on keyboard inputs like the issue we’re having with Battlefield 6. I think it was related to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless drivers but I’m going to be real, this video came out a couple months ago, there’s no chapters integrated into the video separating problem, demonstration, and solution, no one linked a timestamp to the solution in the top comments, and I’m not going to sit around watching the rest of a video about someone claiming they solved an issue but not talk about the solution after I’ve watched half of the video. https://youtu.be/YWTZkB9rVU0?si=UL6zAZhRzuZnkJj_ Solution may start at 7:40, YouTube mobile doesn’t allow you to send time stamped links anymore. ~~~ The Issue: Mouse stutters alternate depending on game launch between the three: Pressing action buttons such as sprint, reload, or interact. Pressing movement buttons. Pressing weapon swap buttons. When this bug happens, either one or the other affects mouse look. They don't occur at the same time. Spamming a bunch of buttons at the same time results with severely increased stutter. Seems like the mouse movement isn't tracked until the button register code has been run, then the mouse movement jumps to the position it should be once the register code is complete. Only happening in Battlefield 6, doesn't happen in other games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 1. Happens with different mice such as the Logitech G502 Hero and Razer Deathadder Essential. Only one mouse has been plugged in while this bug occurs. There are no duplicate peripherals plugged in. Restarting computer doesn't change anything. No control or peripheral changes have been made since last played with no issues. There is no way for the user to fix this bug unless they know how. (I didn't know how and would've never been able to figure it out on my own). The issue persists even after resetting controls and reinstalling the game. Attachment MP4 example is bug occurring when movement keys are pressed. Footage is captured at 125 frames per second in-game and 60 frames per second video export. ~~~ While this bug is active, you can't type into the text chat. Opening the text chat for the first time instantly closes it after a few frames, letters don't register when you re-open and sequentially try to type, the cursor appears on the screen, and clicking automatically closes the menu and fires the equipped weapon. ~~~ Other bug reports on the same issue: Mouse feels a bit off after new update and chat not working | EA Forums - 13015957 Keyboard button presses lead to stuttering even AFTER hotfix | EA Forums - 13015746 When this report was first made back when barely anyone else had posted about the issue online, I kept an eye out for similar threads that might’ve been buried in the Battlefield 6 bug reports page, but now it looks like new threads with potential button buffering solutions are popping up on the trending page thanks to a LOT LOT more people recognising there’s an issue. ~~~ I appreciate all the help and awareness that everyone’s provided over this issue. I understand that not everyone is having the exact same issue I had, but it’s obvious that the issue is a whole lot worse than any one of us could’ve imagined. I just wish a developer would acknowledge the fact we’re experiencing this large of an issue with a reply in one of these threads. Didn’t developers respond to threads back when they first advertised the bug report forum? What happened to that?1.9KViews40likes37CommentsStutters, hiccups , framedrops i found the cause!! Edit***
So after hours of testing today, I found the cause of stutters, frame drops, etc. It's the Javelin anti-cheat, which overloads one or two CPU cores when you press WASD, 1, 2, or 3, the enter button, or certain letters. The CPU core goes to 100%, and this results in stutters. It's affecting all Battlefield titles, so please fix this, Dice! Edit** I noticed that pressing certain keyboard keys (like number keys or arrow keys) causes noticeable micro-stutters in BF1, BFV, and BF6. FPS stays high, GPU load is fine, and CPU cores aren’t maxed. Mouse movement or clicks don’t trigger this. It seems to happen only with keys that change the game state (weapon switch, zeroing, gadgets). Rapidly pressing these keys makes spikes worse (dpc latency.) Shader cache warm-up reduces it slightly, and capping FPS also helps mask the spikes. From what I can tell, the cause is kernel-level anti-cheat checks (Javelin/EA AC) validating discrete input. These checks temporarily block the main game thread, which shows up as micro-stutter, even though CPU/GPU aren’t overloaded. This isn’t a hardware or driver issue—it’s a side effect of the anti-cheat + Frostbite engine. please fix this soon!2.2KViews55likes40CommentsThe cause of mouse stuttering when pressing keys has been 100% found
I'll try to be brief🙂 The bug itself is that when quickly pressing certain keys on the keyboard while simultaneously moving the mouse left and right, the image stutters. However, there's a catch: every time the game is restarted, there seems to be some kind of buffer that fills with the first 4-8 keys pressed on the keyboard. So, if, for example, I press the W,A,D,C,R,Q,S keys first, there's a 99% chance the bug won't affect them. However, the keys pressed after this (from about the eighth key and so on) will reproduce the bug. Moreover, this buffer can "fill" even by clicking the keyboard in the menu. And if the first keys pressed weren't the ones needed for comfortable, dynamic play with parallel mouse movement, then only a reboot and a new input will help. I tested this theory on almost 100 game restarts. And now the first thing I do before a game is enter training mode with my mouse, click the necessary W,A,D,C,R,S,Space,Shift and continue playing calmly. But it shouldn't work like that!🙄 My guide on this topic is on Steam - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3626300845 UPD: An interesting observation from steam/ZongerX is that when pressing problematic keys, Javelin Anti-Cheat activity increases in Task Manager (in my case, by ~3%). However, the problem most likely isn't the extra CPU load itself, but rather that the anti-cheat starts some background checks at that moment on those keys that did not end up in the "safe" buffer and those that are not pressed together with "Alt".2.4KViews39likes24CommentsGame goes crazy after the person i wanted to spawn on dies
It happens every time. After i get killed and wanted to spawn on a squadmate and the person gets killed before i could spawn the game goes crazy. Just try it. My game goes absolute bonkers if that happens. We lose mouse cursor, the game locks on something or someone but without cursor we cannot see what the game has locked on, and where we spawn. No matter if we try to move our mouse to change it just stays. We need to press escape 4-5 times get back to menu and then back to game to get the mouse cursor back, but even this method does not always work.13Views0likes1CommentStraight to black screen.
I reinstalled Battlefield, and on my first attempt at trying to find a match, it to took me straight to a black screen when it found a game. My motherboard doesn't allow me to lower my ram speeds and runs the advertise by default. Battlefield 6 is the only game I am having issue with, every other game works fine especially the demanding games. I would like to express a concern regarding this keyboard and mouse stuttering issue, not as a complaint, but because it genuinely feels like this problem may not be sufficiently visible internally at EA or DICE. After extensive testing and communication with other affected players, it has been confirmed that multiple users are experiencing the same behavior. Based on collective testing, the issue appears to be directly related to the Javelin anti-cheat and its interaction with input handling. For affected players, the impact is severe. The stuttering is triggered by keyboard input while moving the mouse, the specific keys affected can change on every game launch, and restarting the game or rebooting the system may temporarily resolve the issue, but it can worsen over time until the game becomes unplayable. It is important to clarify that all commonly suggested troubleshooting steps have already been tested and ruled out by multiple users, including closing Steam Friends and Steam overlays, closing MSI Afterburner and RTSS, uninstalling or disabling all RGB and hardware control software, removing motherboard utilities, disabling all overlays, testing different keyboards and mice, testing different USB ports and polling rates, and performing clean driver installations. None of these actions resolve the issue. What makes this situation particularly concerning is that the issue appears to affect only a relatively small subset of players, which raises concern that it may not be receiving sufficient attention internally despite the significant gameplay impact for those affected. At this time, it is unclear whether this issue is known internally, formally tracked, or currently under investigation. I would like to ask if there is a recommended way to ensure this issue is properly escalated or if there is any specific diagnostic information that affected players can provide to assist in identifying the root cause. Several players across forums and Reddit have independently described the same behavior, suggesting this is not an isolated case. Any clarification or guidance would be greatly appreciated.Session disconnected due to Inactivity??- plea for help!
Error Message: "Your session timed out from inactivity, and youve been disconnected." How is this error possible when I am playing in Conquest and active. Tried every possible fix out on the Internet including reinstalling windows pc/steam from scratch and nothing else running and same error. EA still has not fixed this ongoing Day One problem and I can't even open a formal support ticket on their site. I never got the error on BETA, only on the bought game from Steam. I complete 20% of the matches, 80% error out due to this annoying frustrating error. What will happen is usually other players start floating on the screen which freezes and then this error message will undoubtedly come up. Using Ethernet connection on an Asus M16 (2023) with high internet bandwidth available. I already checked all the game files for integrity, reinstalled the game, opened udp/tcp port forwarding on router, disabled all background tasks and overlays, optimized PC for gaming, reinstalled Ethernet network adapter latest software. What else can I do here EA??? Please help us.SolvedBF6 Fix: DXGI DEVICE HUNG on GTX 10-Series
POST: I want to share a fully tested fix for the “Hang Detected in waitForFrameFences,” “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG,” and fence-value GPU crashes that MANY players (especially GTX 10-series / Pascal cards) are experiencing in Battlefield 6. This issue is not caused by overheating, overclocking, bad RAM, or drivers. It is caused by DirectX 12 instability on GTX 10-series GPUs combined with the new Frostbite RenderCore2 pipeline. Who Is Affected GTX 1060 GTX 1070 GTX 1080 GTX 1080 Ti Titan X Pascal Pascal cards have poor DX12 memory management + limited Async Compute, causing: Fence queue stalls Shader compilation timeouts VRAM fragmentation Total driver hang → “GPU will not respond to more commands” This causes the exact error message: "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: The GPU will not respond to more commands" “Hang Detected in waitForFrameFences” ROOT CAUSE DirectX 12 on Pascal GPUs crashes because Frostbite’s RenderCore2 renderer aggressively allocates VRAM and async compute tasks that Pascal cannot handle. Under DX12: VRAM spikes to max Driver stalls Fence values stop incrementing The GPU times out (TDR) Crash THE FIX (100% WORKING): FORCE DX11 1. Add this to Steam Launch Options: -renderer dx11 -dx11 2. Edit PROFSAVE_profile (Documents\Battlefield 6\settings\steam): Find and set: GstRender.Dx12Enabled 0 GstRender.Dx11Enabled 1 Save file → set it to Read-Only (This stops the game from switching back to DX12 automatically.) 3. Delete shader + cache folders: Documents\Battlefield 6\cache AppData\Local\Battlefield 6\cache ProgramData\NVIDIA\DXCache ProgramData\NVIDIA\GLCache ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache The game will rebuild shaders cleanly when you relaunch. 4. Optional but recommended (OBS users): Disable this in OBS: Settings → Advanced → Browser Source Hardware Acceleration → OFF (Prevents additional GPU stalls.) RESULT After switching to DX11: No more DXGI_DEVICE_HUNG No more "waitForFrameFences" hangs No more GPU timeout No more stutters from VRAM spikes Stable gameplay even for hours OBS streaming works VRAM usage stays consistent Performance is smoother overall DX11 is slightly slower than DX12, but it is far more stable on Pascal GPUs, and the difference is small with optimized settings. (Optional) Recommended Graphic Settings for GTX 1080 (DX11): Set HIGH/ULTRA for: Texture Quality → Ultra Texture Filtering → Ultra Mesh Quality → Ultra Lighting Quality → High Terrain Quality → High Set MEDIUM for: Volumetric Quality Effects Quality Set LOW/OFF for: Undergrowth Local Light & Shadow Sun Shadow Screen Space Reflections Screen Space AO & GI High Fidelity Objects Advanced: Fixed Resolution Scale → 100% Anti-Aliasing → TAA Future Frame Rendering → ON Upscaling → OFF Dynamic Resolution → OFF Reflex → Disabled (optional) This gives excellent visuals WITH stability. FINAL NOTE This is a game engine issue, not a driver defect or user hardware problem. Frostbite DX12 + Pascal = unstable. Frostbite DX11 + Pascal = 100% stable. Until EA/DICE patch the DX12 path, GTX 10-series users should run DX11. Hope this helps others who have been fighting these crashes. This fix has completely stabilized my game.game runs high cpu on all maps but stutters and slow mo
