Stutters, hiccups , framedrops i found the cause!! Edit***

So after hours of testing today, I found the cause of stutters, frame drops, etc.

It's the Javelin anti-cheat, which overloads one or two CPU cores when you press WASD, 1, 2, or 3, the enter button, or certain letters.

The CPU core goes to 100%, and this results in stutters.

It's affecting all Battlefield titles, so please fix this, Dice!

Edit**

I noticed that pressing certain keyboard keys (like number keys or arrow keys) causes noticeable micro-stutters in BF1, BFV, and BF6. FPS stays high, GPU load is fine, and CPU cores aren’t maxed. Mouse movement or clicks don’t trigger this.

It seems to happen only with keys that change the game state (weapon switch, zeroing, gadgets). Rapidly pressing these keys makes spikes worse (dpc latency.) Shader cache warm-up reduces it slightly, and capping FPS also helps mask the spikes.

From what I can tell, the cause is kernel-level anti-cheat checks (Javelin/EA AC) validating discrete input. These checks temporarily block the main game thread, which shows up as micro-stutter, even though CPU/GPU aren’t overloaded. This isn’t a hardware or driver issue—it’s a side effect of the anti-cheat + Frostbite engine.

please fix this soon!

It seems to be the worst if I'm strafing left and looking right with my mouse and then suddenly strafe right and look left with my mouse.  Its like that movement is run at 30hz or fps.

I hope enough eyes get on this.  I think someone else posted a video of it on youtube with Javlin CPU usage data in real time.

My CPU used to be around 90% and after this update it gets pinned at 100%

I swear to god i thought I go crazy, I was playing and swapping weapons in a quick succession and all of a sudden my mouse movement looks like 3FPS

Even spamming a single button like 1 for weapon 1 is causing the game to stutter.  Fix please...!!

btw. almost 100% certain its no hardware issue (9800x3d,32GB RAM (optimized) RTX5080)

  • So that's why my CPU is 100% loaded in this terrible game...I don't have stators as such, but when I enter the scope and move the mouse, I sometimes see jerks, no, these are not problems with the mouse, but with this %$&#^@ game!

Ok after some testing the problem for me shows like this:

Pressing button 1 on the keyboard repeatedly does nothing ,its fine.
If i spam 2, or 3 its giving the game an interrupt. Result-> stuttering

Switching weapons via mouse wheel does not exhibit this issue, its fine.

So whatever this game is doing, there's something broken.

Correct! And this applies to all recent Battlefield titles., hope it get fixed soon

  • To add to what I wrote earlier, I decided to edit my config file, targeting my CPU cores, which brought down my CPU usage from 100% to around 70%. However that made no difference. I still have the same problem as you described, unfortunately.

That's because it's a kernel bug; we can't fix that.

Yep. Just adding more data points for others and possibly devs to see.
