Cafes Need Attention
I actually think this game runs pretty well and don’t have many problems overall but I feel the need to say something about the cafe experience: it’s awful. Even just controlling one Sim at a cafe is frustrating. I (and probably others) want for my Sims to have a proper cafe experience when they go to one. I want them to be able to go, order their coffee/food, go and sit and read/work on the computer/do homework or just enjoy their drink/food without others sitting at their table and talking to them!! Also, if they’re with someone, they should be able to sit at a table together and do normal cafe activities without constantly changing seats and having others come up and sit with them or talk to them uninvited. Currently, if you go with another Sim, you can’t even get the other Sim to order anything so it’s just your Sim ordering something and the other one meandering about and constantly changing seats. Also, a proper line should form. It shouldn’t be just like a bar where they are just calling out their orders. That’s just unrealistic. Additionally, other Sims tend to steal others’ beverages. ALSO, whether the barista is even functioning is a whole other thing that I suspect is more of a bug. Oftentimes, my Sim will order something, the money will get taken and then the barista stops working. Very annoying.Sims 4 Constantly Crashes Computers!
I've played Sims for decades now. I even got my current desktop PC specifically to play the game. The game, all the expansion packs, stuff packs etc. has been a giant waste of money because there is zero customer service, nor any fixing of problems. The game will make my computer have a solid color on the screen (there have been all colors), and then crash the whole computer. Most aggravating part is that if there are any events taking place, the computer wont crash until after all weekly tasks have been completed. The solid screens start again after the weekly completion. So I KNOW EA Games could make the game play solid if they wanted to. What's the point of playing a game, when it isn't stable to begin with? I've played since Sims 2, and wish I could go back to that because at least there was an ability to play and didn't crash 2 seconds into play.31Views0likes1CommentMarriages not recognized and romance disabled
Marriage between quite a few of my Sims, those related by marriage or who share a distant ancestor, are not recognized and romantic interactions are disabled. All of these marriages have children, but the game is treating each member as single (i.e. call pop ups re: potential dates when playing in another lot) while recognizing the parentage of the children. I'm not sure if the family tree update was meant to break marriages between distant relatives or spouses of other relatives. The marriages are not showing up as marriages in the family tree either. This behavior is occurring both with and without mccc. I do not use other mods. Playing on PC. I have also cleared my caches and no improvement since the February 12th update.Solved676Views0likes10CommentsAllow to edit/update Dynasties via any member
I really like Dynasties but every time I go to edit the Dynasty Details or spend the Perk Points, I realize... oops I am not on the head/leader, then I have toggle out, and select the head/leader, but what if I am not in the household with the head/leader oof... Edit: Really? No one with larger dynasties with the head/lead in another household, is fine having to re-add their head/lead to active household just to add more perks?96Views0likes0CommentsMore CAS Selections and Panels
First off the addition of a Dietary Panel under CAS. Dietary/Body Specifics: Move from Regular Traits to Dietary Traits: Vegetarian/Lactose Intolerant/etc. Add more Dietary Traits like Pescatarian, Carnivore, etc. Add Likes/Dislikes to Cuisine Types Add Favourite Food Likes/dislikes Coffee/Tea/Mixology Drinks/Nectar/etc. Make Utensil Preference Selected here (instead of selecting Sim but make it available to change at any time similar to likes/dislikes) Toggle Option to not gain weight from eating/food. Toggle Option to not gain muscle from working out. Toggle Sim will not autonomously intense based working out like weights/do push ups/jog/etc. (but exclude light working out like swimming/yoga/etc.) And in addition to the Identity Panel: Dominant/Submissive/Switch(both) for romance and pairing animation. Too often my submissive partner is taking the dominant position for IMHO in non-indicating dominant animation. Such as Flutter Kiss/Cocoon Hug (Critter Hunter trait), which I personally feel she should be able to do as the submissive position (as they are a bit girly girl interactions). But I understand some animations make sense such as Passionate Kiss where they dip their partner as the initiator (but less obvious romantic interactions, I'd like the non-dominant placement of hands/arms for her). I hope no one takes offence to this, but IMHO it is as identifying as gender, and sexual preference. And I often wish my main would be less of the initiator when doing interactions such as Flutter Kiss, or sleeping in her partner's arms instead of him in hers. This could also help for Waltzing/Dancing pairing. Dom/Sub for leading—so pairing is not by gender or random. Also, it might help if the dominant had more autonomy of being the romance initiator (if possible). At this time, I made my one Sim the dominant by being a Romantic Sim, having (via cheating) Hungry for Love Lifestyle, wearing flirty jewelry, and my submissive is Romantically Reserved (and not wearing flirty jewelry).63Views2likes3CommentsCross-Platform DLC Transfers for The Sims 4
Dear Reader, As a dedicated Sim player for over 18 years, I genuinely love and enjoy the game. While I've occasionally been frustrated by some updates (or the lack thereof), nothing has been more disheartening than the inability to transfer purchased packs across platforms. I currently play on PlayStation but have been considering switching to PC/Mac for greater convenience, especially when traveling. However, I was shocked to discover that the significant investment I've made in The Sims 4 content—over $1,400 across expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits—would not carry over to a new platform. This limitation is both frustrating and discouraging for loyal players like myself. What is the point of having an EA account if it doesn't provide the flexibility to access purchased content across platforms? The idea of repurchasing the same DLC content for another $1,400 is unreasonable and alienating to devoted fans. Allowing cross-platform pack transfers would offer more advantages than drawbacks: Player Loyalty and Customer Appreciation: The Sims franchise thrives on its passionate and loyal player base. Allowing cross-platform pack transfers would show that EA values and appreciates its most dedicated players. Increasing Player Engagement: Players are more likely to engage with the game on multiple platforms when their content carries over. This flexibility enhances the player experience, encouraging greater long-term involvement in the game. Consistency with Industry Trends: Cross-platform play and transferable purchases are becoming industry standards. Major gaming companies such as Epic Games, Microsoft, and Ubisoft have embraced this model, making it easier for players to access their content across different devices. EA should follow suit to remain competitive and player-focused. Convenience for Players on the Go: Gaming isn't confined to a single device anymore. Many players, myself included, would love to play The Sims 4 while traveling or on road trips by simply hotspotting a laptop to a phone. Without cross-platform content, this becomes nearly impossible for console players. Protection Against Piracy: The current system inadvertently encourages players to seek unauthorized ways to access their paid content on other platforms. Offering a legitimate solution for transferring packs would reduce the incentive for piracy. Increased DLC Sales: Players who have the flexibility to use their packs across platforms are more likely to continue purchasing new content rather than feeling alienated by platform restrictions. Improved Customer Satisfaction: Happy customers are more likely to recommend the game and remain loyal to the franchise. Allowing pack transfers would address a significant pain point for many players, fostering a more positive relationship with the EA brand. I understand that some might argue I should simply remain on PlayStation, but it's not always practical. Being able to hotspot my laptop during travel and play like so many other players would be a game-changer for me. I appreciate the hard work the team puts into developing new content, and I'm more than willing to continue supporting The Sims series financially. However, I cannot justify paying twice for the same content. Loyal fans deserve a better solution. I sincerely hope EA will consider addressing this issue and providing a solution that benefits the entire player base. Thank you for your time and for listening to this long-time player's concerns. ~ Haley926Views12likes57CommentsRandom Sims coming onto property to rummage through or Knock Over Trash Bin
Is it just me??🤔 I was noticing random Sim/NPC trespassing onto my property and knocking over the trash and making a mess, then walking away again. I'd send my Sim to clean it up and keep playing another day away, next thing, I see another stranger passing through the backyard uninvited again... Not even attempting to come to my front door, just bee-lining straight to the trash next to my back door. How rude! There's a BABY in the house! And with another mess left for me to clean up, I decided to build a fence around the raised platform it was on. You know what happened? They still kept trying to get to it! 😱 They just walked as close to it as they could get, or to the entrance of the gate (until the NPC realised it was locked) and just stood there for hours ....waiting to scratch that itch for trash destruction. I play rotationally - and forgot about this incident. Played another household that I have holed-up living in a lighthouse on what I like to envision is mostly an isolated little island. Nuh uh. Here comes the local townie eye-balling that stray trash bin I have tucked away around the back of the house, ready to make a mess. I tried searching to see if any other reports, no luck, but it does seem to be very peculiar (and annoying!) behaviour! I'll be back with screenshots/clips/more details of timing etc so I can help flesh out the report - especially if I'm definitely the first reporting. Thanks in advance Crinrict for any adjustments/fixes you make to my thread 📣 Our local legend3.1KViews7likes41CommentsGive an Option to Order Replacement Birth Certificates & Diplomas
Ok so it always bothered be that Birth Certificates and Diplomaa could accidentally get deleted with no way to recover them. A simple solution to this is to have an option on the computer to order a replacement birth certificate or diplomas (High School or College). We can already order replacement marriage certificates so why not these.46Views7likes2CommentsNon-binary?
The Sims games have always been fun. And rather socially progressive even. However, humans are a mess. 😅 Humans have sexual dimorphism, meaning we have two primary genders: male and female. Everyone knows this. However, thanks to genetic mutations, humans can, very rarely, have a total of 6 biological genders. They are rare gender mutations, but The Sims is a fictional life simulator anyways. I'd love for them to be added to the game. The inclusion would be great, and would definitely add even more possible options and details. And because then I can spend a few more hours creating a Sim. 😄 While it may be a bit much to ask the programmers of The Sims 4 expansion packs (or even The Sims 5 maybe) to have male, female, and the four non-bianary genders, perhaps we could have three gender options? Male, Female, and Non-bianary? And there could be check boxes for what that Sim can do, regardless of selected gender. Like lactate, impregnate others, be impregnated, stuff like that. All the check boxes would do is set the rules for what the Sim can do, cannot do, and what they can and cannot be affected by. Oh, and the should NOT be "either or" checks. That way, I can make a male or female or non-bianary Sim who can lactate, be impregnated, and impregnate others, all at once. OR I could make a non-bianary Sim who can't do any of that. Or a male Sim that can lactate and be impregnated. Or make a female Sim who can impregnate others. I know other players like me would love these options. People already make some fantastic Sims, creations I never could make. And I know the modding community would ABSOLUTELY love these options. I know there are a few mods out there already that get close to this idea, but I would LOVE to see it in the base game, whether that be The Sims 4 or even The Sims 5.Solved218Views0likes5Comments
