Enough is Enough. Stop Spending Money.
UPDATE 19/12. So I decided to quit over a week ago, after 8+ long years and a huge amount of money spent. It wasn't easy, but Im glad I did. I started playing raid shadow legends. While its a complete money sink as well, its actually fun and the developers actually care about their playerbase giving a significant amount of free gifts regularly. My only advice for anyone else making the switch is to be patient. There is so much more fun content than SWGOH and I've experienced ZERO bugs so far (Take notes CG). The reason for my update is to just give any other long term players that are thinking about quitting, the confidence to jump ship. Cut your losses with CG. SWGOH unfortunately feels dead. The ship is sinking and Im glad I made the decision to jump off. _________________________________________________ Long time player here. I estimate I've spent $50k+ (AU) on the game. I love Star Wars, which is what drew me to this game in 2017. I spent money to take Luke to 7 stars. I won't be doing this again as its completely pointless and borderline theft, seeing as we were not adequately informed that our investment in a 7-star Luke will not be given to us until after 90 days. What's more concerning than the boring, slap in the face, greedy recent update, are the constant bugs and the lack of communication with the player base. It truly feels like an insult that they have not responded to any concerns and have completely pay-walled new game modes. They have moved past what the essence of a game is meant to be, first and foremost. FUN. Capital Games is in control of one of the (if not THE) biggest IP's that Disney owns, Star Wars, for the Mobile Gaming platform. Not only has the recent mishandling of their 10 year update left a sour taste in the mouths of all players with Capital Games, but it's also effected how I and others feel about Star Wars as a whole. While there hasn't been any recent Star Wars content through Disney, SWGOH is arguably the biggest product that gives Star Wars fans their Star Wars fix. If I were Disney, I would be taking a huge look into this misuse of their IP, because right now, Capital Games are the joke of their industry. I urge all players....STOP SPENDING MONEY. Frankly, the people at Capital Games do not deserve your money. They have just proved time and time again, they are an amateur gaming development company and should not be in control of producing Star Wars content on the Mobile Gaming platform. This has been completely unacceptable, especially for those long-term players who have invested such a significant amount of money into the game. Enough is Enough.2.3KViews62likes17CommentsColisseum and Spotlight Are Terrible - For Now.
This is a truly bad event in the current context. I think the Devs have forgotten that this is an entirely new game. Different characters, different currencies - hardly anything is the same. It was not even clear to me when I started my colosseum events whether attempts are cumulative or not. (FTR: They are not. Only one attempt counts per day, though it's your highest.) But this is not the worst part about this. I have no strategy for upgrading my new Luke toon, because I literally have no idea where resources will come from nor how many I should expect. Can I buy spotlight currencies? Well it turns out that the game doesn't tell you, though with some investigation you can find out that era mats are for sale. I haven't yet found any of the Era Level Currency for sale, but it might be tucked away somewhere, concealing itself. Then you have allies show up in your coliseum battle, but what Era Level are they? Do they increase with Lukes EL? What abilities are active? How much health do they have? I have no idea because they don't even pop up as borrowed units in the squad screen so I can inspect them before battle starts. The best I can do is use battle time to read ability descriptions, but his doesn't allow me to compare, say, physical damage and figure out which toons should use damaging specials first vs non-damaging specials. The abilities that we depend on in battle are deliberately concealed from us. So now I'm playing a game mode that does nothing to improve my EL - or at least doesn't do anything visible - with no idea what a "good" score for my level might be and no easy way to plan strategies before entering combat. Then let's talk about the Marquee event. Why doesn't this drop EL currency? I seen to increase my shards and thus my promotion level, but that has only the tiniest possible effect on play. I honestly couldn't see a significant difference between 3*/EL5 and 4*/EL5. An attempt at 3* reached 9% damage with a second attempt reaching 12%. The first attempt at 4* reached 15%, but the 2nd attempt reached 12%. How much of this is noise? How much is the promotion level? I have no idea bc I can't inspect stats and my number of attempts is necessarily going to be statistically insignificant. So I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know where I'm going, I don't know how to get there, and I don't even know if I'm making good, average, or below average progress. Congratulations, you've created a game mode that is the definition of useless button pushing. STRONG suggestions: Put out an actual tutorial that shows ppl what resources they're looking for, where to find them, what they should expect in rewards in the short term, and what resources that should ultimately provide in the longer term. Don't force us to rely on toons we don't have and can't inspect. The rewards are all arbitrary anyway. Just scale the power of the enemy so that we get with just Luke what you had been planning for us to get with Luke + the borrowed toons, and then delete the borrowed toons. This way we don't have to learn an entire new team at once, we can focus on learning the kit of just one toon at a time, and we are also able to see what we have. If ppl pay crystals for marquee shards, have the marquee events drop appropriate EL currency at higher tiers (beginning with the 4* tier). I want my characters to get better, and right now this doesn't show me any improvement at all bc shards matter so little compared to EL. So why isn't there a way to invest crystals toward better EL performance? The obvious way to do this is to make EL currency available to those who already invest in the existing shard-based marquee progression system. If EL currency isn't available for crystal purchase, then allow us to search for a way to get EL currency and then present the null result the same way you do when we're looking for shards for a Journey Guide character whose event isn't available right now. That way we at least get an answer and aren't spending our time fumbling through every row of every store seeing if you've hidden it somewhere. After all, why would you sell mats without selling EL currency? And if you're not showing us, then it has to be hidden someplace, right? This is a recipe for driving your players mad. Do not do this. Again, I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know where I'm going, I don't know how to get there, and I don't even know if I'm making good, average, below average, or bad progress. What you've created is a guarantee that your players will hate this. Who wants to play a game when you don't know what you're playing for and don't even know when you've won? This was clearly not ready for release.1.6KViews40likes28CommentsWell CG if your intention was to kill the game, I think you may have succeeded
This new game mode really is the dumbest thing CG has come up with, and that is saying something. i am on the verge of calling it a day. You may have made my decision easier so I do thank you for that. I have spent lots of money on this game over the years, but this may be the straw that breaks the camels back. Not going to spend money on a new currency just to level up a toon that I may never actually use (since I don't know how good or bad it will be), and cannot use him for 3 months. I was happy to wait the 3 months, but asking me to spend on an in game currency? Thanks but no thanks.783Views34likes11CommentsEnough is enough! Game unplayable for days – and CG/EA stays silent!
For over 3 days now, SWGoH has been completely unplayable on mobile and iOS – constant login errors, endless loops, and absolutely no fix or proper communication from the devs. Thousands of players are affected, and yet Capital Games continues to push out new characters like nothing is wrong. This is not just neglect — it's disrespect. We’ve spent years playing and a lot of money supporting this game, only to be treated like mindless wallets. No transparency, no updates, no accountability. Wake up, everyone! This is daylight robbery and a complete slap in the face to a loyal community. We deserve better – we demand answers and solutions now!Solved579Views28likes11CommentsThe Era mode is the death of swgoh
As a HEAVY spender, I say this unapologetically. The facts are crystal clear. SWGOH is no longer enjoyable. FTP = no win/no fun. Pay = no win/no fun. This game has become a complete money grab. With all the new currencies, hard caps on leveling, gated progress throughout the whole experience in Coliseum and character advancement. Plus, removing the ONE sandbox element we had in the galactic challenges that allowed us to test teams, etc., and replacing it with an insulting "Era Challenge", was the final nail in the coffin. To make it even worse, the rewards for these new "Era Challenges" are a complete f'ng joke. 1600 era currency for completing the last tier? Give me a break. What an insult... 400 crystals gets one 11k minimum from the store. Tossing scraps as an attempt keep the peasants happy while you steal their cows and **bleep** their bank accounts is the reality. You took a game that we all enjoyed, and bent us ALL over. Thank you for the extreme eye opener. We all see what is important to you. It's glaringly evident that it's not your customers or the fans of the IP that you are so lucky to be working on. You should be ashamed of your actions and attempts at shoving this usury down the throats of people worldwide.457Views21likes5Comments
