2025 Sims stress: Anyone else?
Game not working... I have no mods and I have every DLC pack. EA is updated, the PC is updated, etc. I have noticed with every patch and DLC in 2025 the game gets a little more dodgey, (one of the patches/updates in February or March, caused every Sim to become an elder and that was the beginning of the end. After the July patches, the problems made the game so frustrating with playable and NPCs unable to interact, pets freezing in place, being unable to give Sims commands, I unistalled everything. I reinstalled every pack and it mostly worked ok. Last week, I was playing just "fine" and the next day, I created a family and every outfit for each one of them became the winter outfit, the hair and accessory choices did not stay, whatever I did in build mode did not save. Now, the game will bring me to the map, I pick a family and it kicks me back to the map screen or the main screen to load a game. I have been playing this game literally since it came out 25 years ago. It is my favorite game and it is my mental health escape. I am just super sad and disappointed with how the gameplay is becoming progressively worse instead of better. I am not looking for perfection just to be able to play. Do I have to unistall everything again? This was literally done a month ago. Thank you for the space to share.Base Game NEEDS A Natural Hairstyle Update
Literally, zero arguments. I recognize the 'effort' to be inclusive in the couple of add-on hairstyles per expansion pack but achieving a somewhat diverse authenticity and aesthetic after being paywalled is slightly frustrating. I think I noticed the upcoming expansion pack may have a couple. Might I say I counted a few but still, they hint very close to styles that exist currently. Head honcho's - I do think it's wise to have a team dedicated to thoughtfully investing in the base game experience while you have your team(s) focused on expansion, game and stuff packs. There is a small percentage of your consumer base that actually purchased The Sims 4 before it was made free... While I do okay as a black simmer creating sims after the various aspect of my heart, I know Maxis as a staff should be doing better. General discussion gets very often, if not daily, some threads where simmers ask for help about what pack they should buy 😊 Specific packs or from all the packs . What is of course a great thing to ask, however, would be nice if all those asks were all at same place.😉 This thread is for this purpose, tell us your playstyle or any detail you wish, to make it easier to give you suggestions 😊 Also here something to help you with the decision : https://simscommunity.info/2024/02/26/sims-4-pack-guide/754Views9likes42Comments"Community Prioritized Fixes" seem to prioritize new packs over old.
"Enchanted by Nature" was quickly repaired, but older packs remain problematic because new players aren't purchasing them and longtime players are left to seek workarounds or mods. I get it. New players keep the franchise going, but older players are the backbone. There are 19 expansions packs, 12 game packs, 23 stuff packs and 31 kit packs in The Sims 4. That's huge! Allocating resources to keep all those packs ticking along is no doubt a logistical nightmare. But, if EA is going to continue to sell all those packs, they need to insure that they work as advertised. If they're not going to provide fixes or support for the older packs, they should discontinue them. Balancing the needs of new players who drive sales with longtime fans who appreciate the older content is challenging. But, ensuring older packs are fully functional is important for community satisfaction and the game's reputation. Especially if - as seems to be the case - TS4 will be continuing for many more years.23Views2likes0Comments
