Newest Update on February 4th caused a complete blackout on my PS5 console.
There was an update for the Sims 4 on my system. I updated it and my entire PS5 console had a green screen for 3 seconds, then my entire console stopped working. I had to do a manual hard reboot (unplugged the power to my console) in order to get my system back. This is NOT okay, things like this should NEVER happen especially if it was properly tested. People have payed thousands of dollars for packs and kits for this game and yet we still have to deal with rushed game packs and kits that glitch, don’t work or cause multitudes of other issues for players. Stop releasing new packs and kits, fix the game and you will still make money as new users will see the game is actually being fixed. Start from the original base game issues and then work through things pack by pack and kit by kit. The Simmers on YouTube/Twitch are not fully being honest and misleading other players. They act like things are perfectly fine, yet not one plays on a Console (only on PC) and all the issues are different depending on the “system” (PC, PS5, etc). Things are by no means fine on PC or consoles. The problems stem from issues in the original base game, packs and kits don’t work properly with the base game or other packs and kits. The packs and kits were created to ALL be played/used at the same time. As a 45 year old who has played the Sims games since it was originally released, I have noticed that not once since the beginning has anything in the base game been correctly fixed and been functional with the base game as well as ALL other packs and kits. Please just fix the game and stop releasing more Packs and kits until the game as well as the already existing packs and kits are properly and functionally fixed for once.
Mythology and Quests in The Sims 4
For years I've been hoping to see Greek Mythology in the sims, and by posting maybe someone with the ability to make this happen will take an interest. I'm imagining the Greek Gods and Goddesses as characters you can interact with, as well as different creatures (satyrs, nymphs, etc.) and monsters (the minotaur, hydra, etc.) you can interact with. Thanks to some recent expansions like Enchanted by Nature and Life and Death, these things aren't that far off. Sims could complete quests they were given by different gods or creatures, compete in tournament-style challenges including chariot races and things, etc. We've seen collaborations before like with Katy Perry and Star Wars, maybe we could see a Percy Jackson Greek Mythology pack with a world designed like camp half-blood? Perhaps a special opportunity only the Demigod children of God-Sims and Regular-Sims could enjoy? It would be cute if the children had special 'birthmarks' to signify which God they had as a parent, similar to the marks the children of Grim have in The Sims already. If not a camp half-blood world, an Ancient Greece with a playable Mount Olympus would be cool too. Perhaps it would be too difficult, but a world where a sim could visit Olympus in the sky, Ancient Greece on the ground next to Poseidon's undersea area, with a secret world (like the alien planet) Sims could access to get into Tartarus. Sims in ancient Greece could craft olive oil like we craft nectar now, craft a special ambrosia nectar that only the Gods or their descendants could drink and would turn any regular Sim into a pillar of fire, etc. It would be interesting to have a "Hero" active career where your sim can slay monsters and quest for magical artefacts, all in a day's work! In any case, these were just a few thoughts, let me know if you think this is a good idea, or if you have any ideas of your own that expand on these!
Kits Ideas
Since we're getting more kits and we already have a grunge and goth kit how about a Emo/Scene kit and a Punk/UK Punk kit. CAS kit. More Formal Wear and Rainy Weather CAS kit. Bedroom and clutter kit, living room and clutter kit, study/office clutter room kit, Fine Dining kit, Attic clutter kit, walk in closet clutter kit. Any other ideas.
Forever Free Packs for Everyone
The Sims 4 is a 10-year-old game with over 100 DLC packs (106), and EA will likely keep releasing more for years. Competing life-sim games like Inzoi and Paralives offers much of this content in their base game. For example, Inzoi can provide content equivalent to 30–40 Sims 4 packs in its basegame for the price of just one expansion pack(40$) and we already have 20 of them. To stay competitive and keep players engaged, EA should make some older packs permanently free—such as Seasons, Cats & Dogs and Get to Work. Giving 2–4 free packs from each pack category would greatly benefit new players so they can complete other packs without pirating. For players who already own these packs, EA could offer new Kits free for a month (like they did with Desert Luxe Kit when The Sims 4 became free). I think forever free packs should be; 2 expansion packs -> seasons, cats and dogs (out of 20 eps) 2 game packs -> dine out, get to work (out of 12 gps) 4 stuff packs -> cool kitchen, bowling night, backyard, spooky (out of 20 sps) 4 kits -> throwback fit, industrial loft, blooming rooms, carnaval streetwear (out of 40 kits of excluding 11 creator kits and 2 spongebob kits, total 53)
Things I would love to see in the sims 4 before its finale
I have made a list of ideas I would love to share for things I would love to see added to the sims 4 before they probably eventually stop making more content / changes to the game. This list is mainly just surrounding a few base game changes / fixes I think we would all love to see, as well as my idea for a pack refresher update and my idea for a whole new pack that I would absolutely love to see added to the game. I would also like to say that if any of my ideas below are added to the game that I do not care to take credit in any way for those ideas I would just love to see them come true in the game with nothing in return. BASE GAME: ~ The color wheel Having a ton of color swatches for everything is nice but a lot of things don’t have enough color options or variety and I would love them to bring back the color wheel in CAS / Build Buy mode. Maybe not on everything but at least on a lot of things. Being able to paint your own patterns on furniture in your home would be nice too. I also wish you could select your own colors for the two-tone hair styles instead of just automatically selecting the second color based on your base hair color selected ~ Character height adjustment in CAS Because why is everybody the same height? My sim’s wife is taller than him when she wears heels! I don’t like it ~ Spiral staircases We all want this.. No, NEED THIS PLEASE ~ Pre-teen life phase To avoid the awkward jump from child to immediately being a teenager. Also if pre-teens could show their occult sides likes teens can but children cannot. This would create more opportunities for storylines of young witches / mermaids / werewolves ~ Fix terrain issues Multiple things can be said about this but I am specifically referring to when trying to smooth out terrain around your house and having a weird gap between the terrain and your walls of your home. I would love for this terrain to be flush up against the walls of the home without terrain leaking in. ~ Fix disappearing items I’m specifically referring to when you zoom in too closely on an item you’ve placed down from build / buy (I believe this issue is exclusively from the debug menu) and it vanishes until you zoom back out ~ Why does my sim always wear a bikini This is a huge peeve of mine whenever I live on a beach lot especially but even when I don’t, if I have a pool on my property it is so common for my sim to just be running around the house in a bathing suit. I would love for my sim to not wear a bathing suit unless actively swimming or interacting with the water in some way, or lounging out within a certain distance of a pool / beach. ISLAND LIVING: ~ Scuba diving / Snorkeling I would do anything for some underwater content like in past sims games. Even if I had to pay for a new pack for this I would 1000% because that’s a huge ask but I know so many of us would LOVE it, and could add more gameplay for regular sims but especially mermaids, and could even unlock new career paths / collectible items you can find while snorkeling to put in your home or sell ~ Mermaid Re-haul More tail options / shapes / colors / customizability to paint your own tails like you can with fairy wings. (For both Mermaids and Sirens) I would love to see a lot of work done for mermaids, but I think the coolest thing would be to split mermaids into 2 playable classes: ~Mermaid Standard mermaid as we know it today, only the basic mermaid abilities they already have ~Siren Has all the standard mermaid abilities + additional abilities in a separate UI like a witch or vampire where they can learn and train their siren spells and use them for water related mischief like: ~Enchant people with a siren song to bend them to your will, bringing up additional interactions after enchanting them like “make them clean your house”, or “make them prank your enemies” and an option for “make them forget” to end the enchantment and send them on their way. (Or times out after a certain amount of interactions) ~Summon wave to take people out to sea / summon a second wave on the same person to drown them ~Call a Kraken / shark friend the way mermaids can call a dolphin friend ~Craft potions to drain a persons needs instead of replenishing them like witches can ~ Siren song to steal life force from another sim, resetting your current age up meter and making them age up 1 whole day ~ Mermaid beds / Decorations We got a little tease of what this pack could have been with the new “Meruroke Bassinet” and it just makes me want this same style of seashell bed in all sizes / life stages. I would love to see more actual mermaid style items and decorations, even if it has to be a whole new pack, I just want a whole ton of beachy / mermaidy CAS items and Build / Buy items LIFE’S A BEACH: (This is just my idea for the new pack name I don’t care what they call it) ~ (Also could include Scuba diving / Snorkeling in this whole new pack) ~New pack Speaking of a whole new pack, IF they did release a new pack full of beachy / mermaidy content, this is what I would like to see: ~ Seashell beds At least one or two different kind of seashell / clamshell beds for each life stage ~ Oyster shell / Barnacle covered couch For a mermaid to feel like she’s swimming in the sea from the comfort of her couch ~ Jellyfish lamps / ceiling lights Nice cutesy lighting ~ Seashell string lights / Coral chandelier Some more nice cutesy lighting ~ Stove top with coral shaped burners The metal grates on the stove top could be made to look like they’re made of coral instead ~ Fridge covered in barnacles A fridge recovered from the deep and given a second life ~ Polished slate rock countertops Some nice kitchen counters that look like they were just pulled and polished from the sea, maybe with some remnants still attached like a starfish or some barnacles different remnants for each different shape / type of countertop to keep it from looking repetitive. Or maybe randomize it if possible ~ Tube coral toilet A toilet made from a giant tube coral, maybe nustled into some sea rock to get the proper shape, with starfish and other corals attached ~ Seashell / Fish shaped mirrors Some mirrors for the bedrooms / bathrooms in the shapes of shells or sea creatures like fish / dolphins / octopus / sharks or even mermaids ~ Boat shaped bookshelf We’ve all seen these in real life, a mini boat shaped shelf or real boat repurposed to be used as a shelf for beachy decoration ~ Mesh / Fishnet curtains I need some curtains that give similar vibes as the captains curtains but they look like you took a cast net and stapled it to your window (in different colors of course) ~ Bubble / Coral / Fish wall decals Some wall stickers of bubbles and corals and swimming fish ~ General rope & fishnet decorations Simple, some rope spool on the floor and some rope to hang on the wall, and some more tattered fishing nets to hang up as decorations ~ Starfish We need some non-debug starfish that you can place on more than just the ground. I want real starfish that I can place on the walls and on some shelves ~ More variations of collectible seashells in different colors I know there is already 13 different collectible seashells but half of them are the same thing just in two different colors and I want more!!! And if not more collectible seashells, then I need some more seashells and corals in build / buy please! I’m trying to make a mermaid paradise here! ~ More corals / barnacle rocks / seaweed I love using the live edit debug corals in the island living pack, but it would be nice to have some things like that in the regular build / buy menu and not in debug, where they unfortunately disappear if you zoom too closely in on them. Some seaweed options would be nice to, to be able to decorate in the oceans of beach front properties ~ More CAS items I’m picturing cutesy / whimsical / frilly dresses and mermaidy clothing. Here’s some ideas I had: ~ Cutesy mermaid beach wave hairstyles (wet and dry versions) ~ Short frilly dress with a seashell bra corset as the top of the dress ~ dresses with coral patterns / seashell patterns ~ Starfish bikini top in different colors ~ Pearl beaded bikini top ~ More long and short sarongs / pareos in some cute light colors & beachy patterns ~ Costume category two piece seashell bikini top with puffed sleeves and a sarong bottom to match, covered in shells / corals / starfish & maybe some florals (I would like to see multiple styles of something like this as a whole body outfit) ~ Starfish earrings ~ Multiple different seashell necklaces including a nautilus shell in multiple colors like standard color, silver and gold ~ Assorted seashell crown ~ Starfish hair accessories ~ Seashell / Fish scale high heels And I was thinking for Siren style Mermaids, even if they don’t add that Mermaid variation, we could still have some Siren style clothing for Mermaids ~ Messy updo hairstyle with seaweed caught in hair ~ Messy wet / damp looking hairstyles ~ Long & short dresses made of tattered seaweed / tattered netting / torn sheet fabric ~ Long dark dress with a tattered slit up the side and a rope tied around the waist as a belt ~ Waterlogged shirts & shorts with barnacles all over them ~ Sleeveless top that looks like an eel wrapping around the torso ~ Spiky sea urchin half-shell bra bikini top in dark colors (Black & dark purple, etc) ~ Tattered fishnet tights with little pieces of seaweed / tiny starfish caught on them ~ More long and short tattered sarongs / pareos in some dark colors ~ A ripped fishnet Sarong ~ Seaweed shawl - one giant long piece of seaweed as a throw over shawl ~ Long & short fishnet gloves ~ Tentacle / seaweed & barnacle crown ~ Tentacle high heels Again if you have any more ideas for some base game changes / fixes you would like to add on to this or more content of this style you think would be cool to be seen released in this kind of pack / beach style feel free to comment. I thought more stuff for the kids stuff if somebody plays the sims 4 you understand the kids and toddler don’t have lots of stuff play with inside and outside of can pretend play video games and play there siblings ride tricycle for toddlers I pretty sure toddlers ride on bikes I wrote a some idea for kids and toddlers for clothes I meant top blouses and jeans ,shorts , shoes etc because I use the same the stuff all the time when I make kids and toddlers in create in sims 4 And specking of clothes men we need more option for men’s clothes I don’t mean just jackets or the same shirt in the game. If you play the game you understand what I’m talking about just be more creative about the men’s clothes and shoes my wear the same shoes over and over the women clothes are good just men and kids and toddlers lacking and the create In sims 4. I know we have. A military job if you can add boot camp not a job a I want you can join in the military like boot camp and graduation for the boot camp back on the kids give the more after school activity’s and add daycare have your own daycare make a stuff pack for kitchen decorations and bedroom decorations and bathroom decorations specking kitchen give more coffee pots the one’s are really bad and out of dated give dogs toy can squeak give us more candles and make a vintage kits or a stuff pack likes clothing or decorations or furniture . Give more animals like pigs , donkeys, pet birds I hope you can put deer and elk I want the elk bugling. Give us cars if you buying something at a thrift store or something you have to put the object where you want it in thrift stores like Goodwill any cheap stuff you can buy flea markets any more baby stuff baby toys anyway just represents with babies like infants, I want the babies and just not just lay around and do anything. More jewelry for the create of Sims Like rings and necklaces earrings little nose rings, no piercings and belt, belly, piercings and more ear piercings and up in the ear kind of way put some more things in the sky more clutter mopping. The first thing we get more child outfits and toddler outfits because I used the some clothes for both of them we need a game pack or stuff pack for the kids and toddler or kits . Try add diamond painting give us more microwave the most important thing you guys should do if you are make a mansion pack or a game pack you add kitchen counters whole kitchen set give more activities for the kids and can do and I want do more things in the water and we always need computers in the game you should add soda more cheap painting you should add volleyball court you gives more snacks in the fridge like pretzels peanut butter with apples etc. give us more TV you should give cricut you should add a dolls collection add stuff animals for the toddlers you add a toddlers easel you add a memory cabinet , play cards old fashion radio more tables lamps , floor lamp add watch sunset and sun raise curl iron and flat iron deep freezer make your own ice cream sundae ice coffee more couch’s more carpets, more nails options ,more curtains , board games like Monopoly , candy land , Yahtzee .
