[CURRENT ISSUE] Anti-Virus blocking User Folder (Screenshots/Gallery/Mods..)
There's currently an issue where some virus programs (namely AVG and AVAST) are blocking the user folder. There are several symptoms currently for this issue Taking Screenshots and Videos doesn't work as the game is unable to write them to the screenshot/recorded video folder Mods/CC and other changes in the options stay how they currently are cause the game is unable to write the changes to the file Gallery has red X showing instead of pictures. I assume that's the same problem as the game is unable to download the thumbnail pictures to the cache folder GameVersion.txt shows the wrong game version To solve this you need to add the following files as an exception to your Antivirus Program (see instructions for your particular program on how to do this). C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EADesktop.exe C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe For DX9: C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_DX9_x64.exe Paths may vary depending on your installation. Both Avast/AVG have sections for Ransomware. You need to add it there. Please see instructions here: Add Exceptions to Anti Virus Programs If you are using Windows Defender, the Ransomware settings have similar effects. When I go into the ea app and click play it logs out and doesn’t bring me into sims 4, it just says I’m already playing but I’m not in my game, another thing is when I put open as administrator it doesn’t always work but when it does let me into my game my sims 4 hairs start to disappear when I move the camera backCFB26 Teambuilder Issues
Good Afternoon, I have been trying to use TeamBuilder since launch, and I keep getting an error screen that reads: "Error: The EA Servers are not available at this time. Please try again later.". I have tried Chrome and Edge, I've cleared my cookies and cache, is there a fix? I know it's working because a friend of mine is currently on the site creating a team. I’m unable to download the Console: 2.14 update for The Sims 4 on PS5. I have the physical disc version of the game, and every time I try to update, it gets stuck and won’t progress. I’ve been trying for several days, and the update never completes. The loading time constantly fluctuates, going as high as 25 hours, and has never gone below 12 hours. It stays stuck at “Preparing to download” or at 0%, and sometimes resets or jumps around. The update has never actually installed. As it stands, I can’t play the game at all because the update is required. What I’ve Tried So Far: Cancelled and deleted the download from the queue Rebooted PS5, unplugged power for several minutes Cleared cache and rebuilt database via Safe Mode Changed DNS settings to: Google: 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 Switched to a mobile hotspot and wired Ethernet Verified game is installed to internal storage, not external Other games and updates install just fine I’ve seen multiple players report similar issues with this patch (Console: 2.14) across Reddit and social media. Is this a known issue, and is there a fix coming soon? I’d appreciate any updates or support, as it’s frustrating not being able to play a game I physically own. Hi, I have been unable to get my game to launch. The game launches from the app as normal but when it cuts to go to the game screen it just goes to white with the spinning mouse icon. I have no mods installed and have uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and the EA app. I have removed all my save files, all the screenshots, and all the videos. There is no custom content or anything that could be corrupting the file (afaik). any help would be greatly appreciated.Sims 4 crashing on first loading screen
Hi, I've been having problems with my game for the last two-ish weeks. I hadn't played for over two years before starting it back up in June and things were running smoothly until two weeks ago. Every time I try to open the game, I get the loading screen that says The Sims 4 before it crashes and goes back to the EA app. I'm not very tech savvy but have tried to follow instructions I've seen on here, including uninstalling and reinstalling the app, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, clearing the cache, playing in a clean boot, trying to play in a clean folder. I think my graphic drivers are up to date, but it is an older computer. I don't use mods and never have. I've attached my dxdiag. Thank you!Anyone knows what the game is doing on launch?
I'm playing on a gaming laptop. Everytime I launch the game, my laptop's fan roars like a helicopter. But after I actually load a save and start to play, it becomes quiet. Hello, yesterday I played The Sims with the Business and Hobbies DLC for the first time. I spent around three hours building my business. At the end, I made sure to save my game. However, today when I tried to continue, the game spawned me in front of my house — but without my business, apartment, or husband. Everything I had built yesterday is gone, and I really want to continue playing that character. I paid €30 for the DLC, and it’s very frustrating that my progress disappeared despite saving. I’m sure I saved the game before closing it. Please help — I’d really like to recover my progress.
