My honest criticism about the game.
I'll start off saying i enjoy the game, and I'm sorry for wall of text. I consider myself a Veteran player of Battlefield franchise, I started to play BF with 1942. only games i skipped are Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield Hardline(i was in Beta test for the game), i have participated in allot of Battlefield Alpha and Beta tests in the past, including Battlefield 6, right now I'm on long term sick leave from work, so i have time to play and write this. In this i'll talk about things that frustrates me, i could say constructive criticism. Gun Balance. The biggest problem for me right now is weapon balance in game, at least how i see it. I understand weapon balance is hard, especially with low Headshot multiplier atm. Gun is the king, not aim. LMG's and SMG's are over tuned. SMG. My suggestion would be to increase Damage drop off for SMG's past 50m, because of low recoil or i might say none and fast fire rate, there is no problem to use it past effective range of AR's and Carabine's in game. and by doing this SMG's still will be Close Quarter Kings. So the guns will be viable and fun to use. LMG. For LMG's uff someone of developers really like LMG's, there are no bad LMG in game, right now as they stand, they can replace all roles of other guns. They play like Rifles, you can jump, you can slide, you can run, you can move and shoot, super high bullet velocity, and low close to no recoil. Only drawback they have is slightly increased Aim Down Sight speed. and you can manage that with attachments. all they need is increased movement inaccuracy, if you mount or stand still, beam as much you like. Snipers. Right now in game there are 2 good Sniper rifles, M2010 and MINI SCOUT, PSR and SV-98 are slow clunky with low bullet velocity, and why people pick and play Recon because its easy, you have sweet spot mechanic where you just need to hit body to get a kill, and range finder, which zeros in gun where you aim, for example i hit 1000m+ headshots with this and i only use it for engagements 500m above. My suggestion would be get rid of sweet spot mechanic entirely. And rework Range finder as it shows only Distance and you need manually zero in and compensate the bullet drop. It will decrease players camping on the hills without helping team as it will be more difficult to get a kill with sniper. DMR. Have no input in this i don't use them. Shotguns. I think they are good where they are, except DB-12 got it to lvl 50 as joke, i think its a bit under tuned, point blank in head deals 80 damage and second shot 90% will miss because movement, recoil or mix of both, or not register at all. AR/Carabines. I put them in same category cus they play and feel similar. (Have all AR's lvl 50 working on Carabines) Its my favorite gun class, i like my M4's and Ak's except 205, there are few viable guns in both of the classes, biggest grief they are under tuned, dmg drop-off starts at 5m and some of guns have almost no damage past 70m. allot of the guns have movement penalty's and recoil. if compered to other gun class, most viable option is make a SMG out of Rifle. Suggestion decrease dmg drop-off for AR's and Carabines, so they could play mid long ranges. Maps. Iconic open big maps was staple of franchise, right now i don't understand why you don't take maps from previous portal(in Battlefield 2042) you already had ported maps on this engine, copy best maps from Battlefield 2,3,4,Bad company,1, V, copy them not rework with all vehicle spawns and everything. put them in portal not in BF labs, let players test them in live game, promote them in main menu, and then accordingly form player feedback adjust them. Almost all maps right now are choked by small playable/fly, areas. I wont talk about all maps. New Sobek City. I like the map on Escalation and Conquest, but problem is it doesn't play good on other game modes because of roof camping, in conquest and Escalation you can battle it with helicopters but in other game modes its pain especially in Braketrough and you can cap the point from roof. Manhattan Bridge One of my favorite Conquest and Escalation maps please increase the flyable area of this map, but for Braketrough and Rush its choked down by playable areas especially for the first sector. i would open up map towards river its sloped and provides cover right now you can only go halfway down and you are out of bounds, it would help attackers to flank more and make the map more fun for both sides. Mirak Valley Same thing as above, for first sector to balance you throw in more tanks all the map needed is more cover for attackers and wider playable area so flanking is possible. Attachments. Right now in game, there are 2 types of usable muzzle attachments Flash hider and Silencer. If you use anything else you are in disadvantage, for those who dose not know using anything else when you shoot you are spotted not only in mini map but you get 3d spotted (red rectangle above your head). My suggestion would be, make the spotting only in mini map but using brakes or compensators you get spotted for longer time than using flash hider. Leave the 3D spotting to recons. Allot of guns its impossible to run Larger Mag with normal attachment combination, allot of AR's have 20 bullet mags, I'm not talking about TR-7 its strong enough. Gadgets. All classes should have access to smoke grenades! Allot of Gadgets are broken or not viable to use. Assault. Stun grenade - There is no point of using it, flash grenade dose the same thing but better. Adrenaline Injector - Its annoyance especially using it to do challenges, there are more drawbacks than benefits, it takes long time to use it, it last very short amount of time, and effects are negligible. SS26 Incendiary-Round Shotgun - uff i did the challenge 5000 dmg with it, if compared to other incendiary gadgets this is under power flames do no damage, direct hit deals low damage 45 if i remember correctly, i did the challenge and never put back in my loadout. X95 BRE Breaching Projectile Launcher - dose this even work? Engineer. ANTI-VEHICLE Grenade - Buff the damage, it deals good damage to vehicles but no damage to infantry and its hard to use. RPG and M136 AT, are only viable anti air right now, lock on stuff works only on bad pilots. MBT-LAW Auto-Guided Launcher - RPG is easier to use and deals more damage. M4A1 SLAM Tripwire Sensor AV Mine - Deals to little damage against vehicles, only fun use is put them on Jeep and ram tanks. CSS Bundle Vehicle Supply Crate - Should be an option to get ammo for rifles as well making this an good option to put in loadout. Support. Incendiary Grenade - Decrease the area it works, it can set you on fire trough the walls, it can set you on fire even if grenade is far away from you, even if you touch it for 0,1 second you lose 1/2 of health, i fully understand area denial, kills if you are low or stand in it, or you get hit by splash damage. And i will add it works like spotting gadget as well, you throw it next to doorway and look other way if you get hit mark you know someone came in. LWCMS Portable Mortar - Disable option to put it down in Base or enemy inaccessible areas, right now in allot of game modes 4 mortars next to each other just spams objective only thing that can access them are drones, but as soon they hear drone they hop off the mortar shoot the drone and continue, if you destroy mortar they run in dies and back to mortaring. Recon. M18A1 Anti-Personnel Mine - Hard to spot blends in, please make lasers brighter. XFGM-6D Recon Drone - Strongest spotting gadget in game, please disable option to destroy and spot other gadgets trough walls. Vehicles. Tanks. Right now I think tanks are in good place, they are not too squishy, and at the same time bad positioning is punished, i touch this because allot of players are saying tanks are to strong or to week. But thing i don't like about them is all of them have anti air capability aka TOW or guided missiles, for players with less flying experience there is no way to counter it, on some maps instantly from base you can shoot down enemy helicopter. Also big problem are Base camping AA Tanks, there is no way to kill it with missiles and players abuse it, because Ai controlled anti air shoots down all incoming missiles, but are so bad at countering base camping enemy Jets and Helicopters. Only way to kill them are attack Helicopter gunners main gun, but its not effective. Jets I know this will be addressed in future patch, but main gun is far to effective on destroying other jets. And it is also Hard to control them, at least for me but I'm learning, strong AA doesn't help. Also non existent Customization on them doesn't help. Helicopters Would like to see more Transport helicopter customization like defense and different guns or some tungsten or depleted uranium rounds to counter some armored vehicles? Also it fly like a boat, its hard to maneuver around tight spaces. Attack Helicopter right now is in strange place, its so squishy, its hit or miss, as they lack of any defense against TOW missiles, its hard to spot them and you have no indication when its launched or flying at you. Redsec. I'm not against Battle Royale, for me its kind of fun, i have good dedicated squad to play with, we have around 22% Win rate in Quads, on average we get around 30 kills lowest are around 12, highest was 48. But again gun balance is a huge problem in it, KTS is the hands down strongest gun in BR, no recoil, huge bullet velocity, i have tried it 100m you can delete 4man squad with one mag. Just point and click. Also its easier to get a Tank than RPG. for Anti vehicle drops i suggest variation of 4 RPG's in crate not 1, and variation like 3 anti airs, 1 anti tank like mix it up. I'm not huge fun of weapon loadouts dropping in, my suggestion is to get custom loadout you need to do specific task(multi stage missions) or something. And that will decrease KTS count on field and attest i think will end up better for new players, and more fun for older players, low level players dont have kited out guns like us and of course its frustrating to lose to gun which is better than anything you can get. About Weapon upgrades please let us chose optics, allot of optics from upgrading are bad or I would never put on my gun, I would rather use iron sight. Also please color code squad mates(and let us chose color). all pins are the same i need to look what number player is and than where is his pin, it will make easier to pin close danger or where enemies are just by pinging location and immediately i will know, where and who pinged it. And please separate stats from Multiplayer and RedSec. Skins. Let us chose gender of our soldier, I have nothing against female characters, but the count is to **bleep** high, as allot of players pointed it out previously, you cant get Male medic from get go, pay up, or do allot of challenges. You have 32 Nato country's to chose uniforms from, and you chose and made that, I'am flabbergasted. I would pay for My country's uniform and run with my Flag on shoulder, i think allot of us would. But you better put more ugly skins in, allot of which i don't get it its a man or woman until i touch incendiary, i scream like a banshee. And for PAX its freaking mercenary's you have so many ways to make them look good and distinguishable from Nato, but no lets make similar looking skins, and promote wannabe Bangalore from Temu. Challenges. Challenges and progression in game is in strange place, some of challenges are to easy and get filled just playing the game, others are more luck not skill based, i doesn't make sense allot of Class gadgets that are useful are locked behind dumb or broken challenges. Also in weekly challenges half of them are in Redsec - Gauntlet or Battle royale modes, and you need specific mode in gauntlet, which you don't get for several games in a row. There are gamers who don't like Redsec part, and you continue to push it on others. Yes you added reroll but come on, you have 4 re-rolls in a week. Overall suggestion. Stop banning people for offensive chats, make togglable profanity filter we can tur on/off. no one gets offended if they don't see it. I'm all down, to ban people for death threats or open cyberbullying, but not for f word or any other letter, its a game about war, not saving private Snowflake! You have portal mode, put all things you want to test there, promote it on weekends and you will have live test data, as BF Labs are separate entity people don't use it actively. Please make persistent servers with map rotations like in BF V, so we can play with and against same players, that's how you make community, friends, in one game playing solo I had so cool squad, we joked around, upset enemy team with attack helicopter, and enemies made dumb jokes when we crashed, it was fun and engaging, and i would be down to play more games in same server, but oh no map ended new server off you go, and oh ye, you just played Eastwood, here play it again on same side. And add an server browser. Also what I have noticed it looks like your lag compensation predicts movement to far, that's why often it feels like you get killed behind corners or cover. Disable always on Microphone for console players, put push to talk default option! AND most important one Make more open communication with us Gamers, if something is the way it is tell us, and also response time for major issues are to slow, BF lost allot of players in first month because people was upset with Laser Locked rockets on IFV's, Drone Boost bug so they shot from inaccessible spots, Bloom on AR's, etc., and it took more than a month to fix it, all of those were game braking. Shoutout to the absolute beasts who can pilot choppers or jets with insane precision—those 50+ kill streaks are impressive and showcase real skill. That said, aircraft often hold a massive, lopsided advantage over ground forces. I get the logic: control the skies, control the battlefield. But when one great pilot farms the lobby unchecked, it discourages infantry play and sours matches. Credit where due: skilled flying should be rewarded. But we can level the playing field slightly without nerfing pilots into irrelevance—making them work harder for those god-tier runs. A few targeted tweaks worth considering: Lower the minimum altitude for lock-on weapons — Right now, aircraft can hug the deck to break locks too easily. Dropping that threshold a bit would reward pilots who stay high and maneuver smartly, while giving shoulder-fired options (Stingers, etc.) more consistent windows against low-flying harassers. Extend flare cooldowns meaningfully — Flares already recharge, but compare that to ground vehicles (tanks reloading shells take forever) or support players restocking grenades/smoke grenades. A longer refresh would force pilots to manage cooldowns more carefully, use terrain/cover, or risk getting punished during downtime—without removing their escape tool entirely. Buff stationary AA (spawn-based flak/AA guns) — Increase effective range and damage/lethality so they actually threaten aircraft that get too bold near objectives or spawns. This gives teams passive tools to contest airspace without relying solely on mobile AA or dedicated engineers. Reduce lock-on times or acquisition range for ground AA launchers slightly — But pair it with higher damage on hit or faster projectile speed. This makes skilled pilots (who break locks with maneuvers) still dominant, but gives average players a better shot at contributing to takedowns—rewarding quick locks without making it too easy to spam. These changes wouldn’t dethrone great pilots—they’d just demand even sharper decision-making, better positioning, and teamwork (e.g., coordinating with friendly air or ground AA). I’ve spent over $130 dollars on BF6 so far and while the destruction is easily the best in the entire series, the current map pool is starting to feel small and repetitive. We have this incredible next-gen engine, but we are missing the legendary "war atmosphere" and massive scale of the older titles. My Recommendation: I strongly urge the developers to consider a "Legacy Remake DLC." Take the iconic maps from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, like Damavand Peak, Siege of Shanghai, and Caspian Border and fully remake them using the BF6 destruction and lighting. I believe many of us veterans would be happy to pay $50 – $60 USD for a massive, high-quality Legacy expansion pack. It would give the community the large-scale gameplay we crave while finally making use of this engine’s full potential. Who else would buy this on day one?Great Update!
I gotta say, I'm loving it so far! Gameplay is much smoother. Everything about firing, getting hits, being hit, felt good. Not laggy or behind. Things look better. Not sure what you did, but it just looks cleaner somehow. The new map, and Nightfall, is amazing! I am loving that night mode. I usually play the large maps soley, but found a lot of fun with the night mode. On breakthrough with the subteranian map, the coolest thing is the opening up of all the tunnels and destruction. I get that the tunnel map is confusing and you get flanked like crazy and it plays a lot like an arena game, but I really like the destruction and tunnels which are created, its just cool. I just wanted to say good job on the new maps. I think you said the bar high. Contaminated is by far the best map in BF6 and the new Hagental map is better than Metro/Operation Locker. I think the trenches on Contaminated work very well. The opening of different routes on Hagental is well done. The sewer system is perfect for flanking. I think you could have added the night mode to conquest. I would have made B, D flag dark and the sewer system. I would also like to cut on the fact of large maps. Personally I never enjoyed long running, sure you could take vehicle but I didn't enjoy the 2042 maps size. I think my favorite BF3 map is Damavand Peak and BF4 Siege of Shanghai and Paracel storm the atmosphere is just unmatched. We had night time Conquest on the Zavod map 13 years ago in BF4. All of the crap game modes and crap maps required for the Night event means I won’t be playing, Just like the Christmas event with yet another small COD boi map. No thank you. This thread is for the person who is tired of matchmaking. For the person who is tired of joining rounds mid-game. For the person who is tired of having their party break at the end of matches and needing to leave games and recreate their party with their friends. For the person who is tired of playing attacker or defender over and over. For the person who is tired of playing maps in a random order. For the person who misses options and game modes that used to be in Battlefield games. For the person who is tired of sweats, or for the person who doesn't mind sweats. Every one of these experiences can be hosted and started with just one person. There is no need to queue up and wait for 12 or 20 players to join. Each experience can be enjoyed with no other humans or as an experience that is full with only humans. Each one will fill with bots, as necessary, and then the bots will be replaced as humans join. You can either search for the experiences using the titles provided, or search for the experience code listed (the easier method). Battlefield Owners: "Casual Conquest...": Solo-start (of course!) large scale conquest that is a faithful reproduction of the real thing, except with the ability to play against bots and level up your skill. Vehicles respawn quickly to get you back in the action. Bots will be replaced by humans, as humans join, but a minimum of 16 bots total will always be present, to give that casual feel. ZH6YV "Night Conquest...": Three conquest experiences like the previous, but at night. One is dark and blue, to mimic a full moon night as best as possible with the tools available. Another has a green NVG effect to make enemies easier to see. The third experience has IRNV (thermal) enabled the entire time. Dark (moon) mode: ZMQMZ NVG (green light boosted) mode: ZMBXX IRNV (infrared white hot) mode: ZNT41 "Winter Conquest...": Just like Casual Conquest, but all the maps are played in the snow. ZGQ1G "Large 28 vs 28 TDM...": Classic conquest maps with vehicles and everything, but no objectives. The only objective is to get to the top of the scoreboard, be on the winning team, have a sweet KDR, or have a killer streak. Note: bots are limited to 22 vs 22 per EA's bot limits. ZMSS7 "Cairo Chaos...": Seige of Cairo with a new twist. One street. One objective. 28 vs 28. A ton of cover has been added, plus a couple buildings for snipers to oversee the battlefield. Use of ladders to increase verticality and sustain the crazy number of players is encouraged. ZPQ25 "Hardcore Team Deathmatch - Small Maps - Bot Fill" : A rotation of small infantry maps with Hardcore settings. Experience the experience that EA forgot how to provide. Tons of fun and action! YKBXU "Heat of Battle..." : A bright and saturated version of conquest where a variety of colored flares appear each time someone spawns, kills, dies, or takes damage. This allows you to have the normal fun experience but also see and appreciate the battle playing out around you. It creates a broad heat map of activity; keep moving if you don't want to give away your position. ZTBJ1 Free to Play: "F2P - Golf Course - King of the Hill - Clubhouse" : One objective at the top of the hill at the club house, with each side spawning on either side of the club house hill. Attackers try to advance up the hill and take control of the clubhouse, while defenders try to pick them off. Spawns are naturally protected by the map layout, with some additional protection provided. A sniper outpost is added in the form of a broken highway nearby. Hardcore: Z6ZFK Standard core: ZAEF4 "F2P REDSEC - Team Deathmatch" : Golf Course and Tech Sector map rotation of Team Deathmatch. Golf Course features the same design you see above. Tech Sector is mostly un-modified but can be modified based on feedback. Deathmatch AI has a purpose and you will see them on a mission. Infantry-friendly vehicles are provided. Hardcore: Z3Q8X Standard core: Z91ZJ "Golf Course - Custom Bots - Infantry Conquest": 20 v 20 infantry conquest at golf course with many objectives in close proximity. This is what we used to call "conquest small". This is the chaos some people crave. It is essentially "King of the Hill" described above, except with 4 more objectives. Hardcore: ZC34V Standard: ZC2RY "Friends vs Friends F2P TDM with Team Switching": 20 vs 20 TDM to play against your friends. Bots can be turned off. Each spawn area has a sign you can interact with in order to switch to the other team, or turn bots on or off. Host it with a password if you don't want randoms to join. ZG383 "Friends vs Friends F2P Infantry Conquest with Team Switching": 20 vs 20 conquest small at golf course to play against your friends. Bots can be turned off. Each spawn area has a sign you can interact with in order to switch to the other team, or to turn bots on or off. Host it with a password if you don't want randoms to join. ZGGTZ Please, if you are only looking for a PvE experience -- alone or with friends -- host the experiences with a password so that you can play with as many friends as you want, instead of kicking unwanted players who randomly join. Being kicked for randomly joining someone's hosted experience is not a good feeling. Note: "Free to Play" is subject to EA's wishes. Free-to-play experiences are hosted on REDSEC maps which were provided to players for free, but EA could revoke free-to-play access of those maps at any time. Additionally, amount of XP awarded and whether weapon unlocks or challenge progression is awarded is completely at the will of EA. Here are some very short demo videos. My piloting was awful, but the purpose is to see that bot teammates jump in as gunner, are helpful, will heal, revive, and throw down ammo, and the bots keep activity going around the entire map. Hello to the dev team and the community! After spending several hours on Battlefield 6, I wanted to share some feedback and suggestions that I believe could make the overall experience even better. 1. Map Size, I find that the current maps are a bit too small. Fights often feel too confined and lack the strategic depth that made previous Battlefield titles so great. Larger maps would allow better vehicle usage and bring back that epic large-scale battle feeling the series is known for. 2. New and Classic Maps, While new maps are always welcome, it would also be amazing to see the return of some classic maps from older Battlefield games — such as Operation Metro or Laguna Presa. These iconic maps hold a lot of nostalgia for players and would add great variety to the current rotation. 3. New and Iconic Weapons, Adding new weapons would help refresh gameplay, but I’d also love to see the return of classic iconic weapons like the M1 Garand, M16A4, AS VAL, M98B, MP5K, F2000, L96A1, or XM8. These weapons were an important part of Battlefield’s identity and would be a welcome comeback for longtime fans. 4. Conquest System and Ribbons, Bringing back flag icons within conquest zones, as in older titles, would improve visibility and immersion during battles. Also, bringing back ribbons (earned for in-game actions) would be a great way to reward players for their specific playstyles and contributions to the team. 5. New Squads and Faction Variety, It would be great to add new squads within the factions, each with unique appearances, accents, and equipment. This could also be a perfect opportunity to bring back old class skins from previous Battlefield games, which added extra personality and variety to the soldiers. Overall, Battlefield 6 has a lot of potential, and with a few tweaks like these, it could feel even more authentic to the Battlefield spirit.
