My Sims game won't run or tell me it won't load
I have a MacBook Air M1 chip. with the Tahoe 26.2 update. I've been playing the sims on this laptop ever since I got it back in 2023. I've always played with mods as well and all of a sudden my game won't even load. I run the app and it just exits out back to the EA App. I've done everything the internet has recommended, deleted caches, removed mods & saves, repaired the game in app, and given full disk access. It still won't work, please help. The Sims 4 unusable on Mac since forced Origin → EA App migration
I am a macOS user and I previously played The Sims 4 without any issues on Origin. EA forced the migration from Origin to the EA App, and since that change I have not been able to play the game at all. The Sims 4 is permanently stuck at “Updating 8% / Preparing 129 GB” and never completes. The update cannot be cancelled, and the EA App eventually throws errors (including error code 108). I have already tried all standard troubleshooting steps: - Reinstalling the EA App - Clearing EA App cache and support files - Reinstalling The Sims 4 - Restarting macOS multiple times - Testing on a brand-new macOS user account - Confirming a stable internet connection The exact same issue happens even on a clean user profile. This confirms the problem is not my Mac, but the EA App for macOS. The game worked before on Origin. Since being forced onto the EA App, the product I paid for is no longer usable. Is EA aware of this issue on macOS, and is there an official fix or workaround? At this point, the EA App is preventing access to content I already purchased.192Views0likes2CommentsSims game crashing/unplayable
Okay sims team, what the heck is up? Ever since the latest update my game is virtually unplayable. I have done anything and everything I've read about to fix my game, (restart my computer, repair the game, start a new world, etc) but now I can't place roofs, I can't really add sims to my game without it crashing, I started a new save after uninstalling some packs, which then let me add the first household, but now it refuses to let me save or build anything, or play at all. It started with not letting me place roofs, add sims, or save my game, and now it is completely unplayable. I don't use CC or Mods. So what is going on here?My Sims Side Action Bar isn't loading or showing up
Ive tried restarting and repairing the game it hasn't worked, and than tried deleting cache files like localthumbcache.package , cache folder , cachestr folder , onlinethumbnailcache folder but it still hasnt done anything. It started when I aged up my toddler sim to a child and than I happened and than I moved to my young adult sim so two of them are now glitched. But some of my other sims are fine and working. Ive also restarted my Mac but still doesn't work.I can't install any custom content PLEASE
I have been struggling with this for about a year now. At some point, my Documents folder somehow made it into the cloud. I redownloaded it from the cloud along with everything in it, but it's been weird ever since. No matter what I do, including repairing the game, the files from my saves, cc, and all of that are disconnected from the game. I could go to my Documents folder, then to the Sims, and then to mods and see my files, but the files won't show up in my game. After a lot of research, trial, and error, I ended up uninstalling the Sims 4 and deleting all of the related files, including the Sims 4 file from my Electronic Arts folder. I've reinstalled it now, and there is no Sims 4 to be found in my Electronic Arts folder or anywhere, for that matter. I can open and play the game from Finder. I just see the game file and cannot access anything else. When I first downloaded The Sims 4, it was on Origin. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I just want MCCC and UI Cheats back please!!!!!!! (my other cc would be nice too)Sims 4 old back folder doesn't work
PLEASE HELP!!! I cleaned out my mods folder just to make sure I didn't have duplicate mods in the game. Once I was done, I couldn't find the Electronic Arts folder but my saves and mods were still in game. I ended up searching for the EA folder and two came up. It asked if I wanted to replace, I said yes and my entire game was wiped. I tried to use my back up sims 4 folder to add it back to the game and it's not working. Electronic Arts folder doesn't have the sims 4 folder and when I add it in it still doesn't load. I even renamed the folder so a new one could generate but it does not. The Electronic Arts folder has an "EA app" folder and in that folder an "ARD" folder and "machine. ini". When I click on the ARD folder there is a GEADesktop folder that doesn't open when I click on it. I've tried repairing the game, logging out of the app and restarting so a new The sims 4 folder can appear and nothing. That's the only thing that pops up.Can’t download the ea app and origin is not working anymore - can’t play at all
Hi, I’m not sure if anyone else is having this problem but since the sims has moved to the ea app obviously origin has stopped working. I play on a Mac computer - MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6 every time I’ve tried to download the ea app it has a white no entry sign on the ea app icon when I try and drag it into the application folder. When I try and open it, it says “You can’t use this version of the application “ea app” with this version of MacOS. You have macOS 10.13.6 the application requires 10.15 or later” I can’t find a possible update on my computer anywhere. So I basically can’t open origin anymore, because it’s shut down and now I literally cannot even download the ea app, so I’m stuck is there a fix for this? I’ve spent so much money on this stupid game and now I physically can’t even playGame Won't Open Old Saves
For the last week, my game will not open my old saves. At first they wouldn't even come up when I opened the game (even after I removed the original sims folder to my desktop and copied the save files in one at a time), but once I finally created a new game they would appear, but the icons would be greyed out. If I clicked on the saves, it would automatically open the new game rather than my old save. Including a screenshot below. I've tried repairing my game, restarting my computer, and clearing out my computer storage and making sure all the saves were downloaded (not on the cloud). I've tried restoring older saves of my game, all to the same effect. I don't & have never downloaded any CC or mods. Does anyone have any tips? I would be devastated to lose my old saves--I've been playing on the same family for years!can’t access game
for about a month now whenever i try to open sims4 it just says ‘too many computers have accessed this accounts version of [game name] recently. Please try again later.’ i have repaired the game i’ve deleted and redownloaded it nothing works because that message just keeps coming up. I’ve not been able to access sims 4 for about a month now. I have also tried to remove all other devices but the only device i play on is my macbook but i still deleted trusted devises on the EA website
