Origin will not launch! - Mac OS 10.13.6

I keep getting a message pop up saying "Well, that didn't go as planned" "Origin encountered an issue loading this page. Please try reloading it - if that doesn't work, restart the client or try again". I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have updated my laptop to the newest version that I am able to download. It will not update to the latest version so I am unable to download the new EA APP so I have to use Origin. Any suggestions? There's hardly anything on this laptop, I just use it to play Sims.
