Player Career Mode Bug – Incorrect Overall Rating & More
I’m experiencing a major issue in Player Career Mode in EA FC 25. My player's overall rating, skill points, and physical attributes are completely broken, and I’ve seen many other players on the EA forums reporting the same problem. Main Issues: Incorrect Overall Rating: My player’s overall rating keeps changing randomly. Sometimes it shows 71 OVR, but after editing my player, it drops to 64 OVR. In the top-right corner, I briefly see that my player should be 90 OVR, but then it glitches back to 64 OVR or 71 OVR. Skill Points Not Applying: Even though I assign skill points, my player’s attributes don’t increase at all. The upgrades simply don’t work. Height and Weight Not Updating: My player is stuck at 181 cm and 55 kg. Whenever I try to change these values, they either stay the same or cause my overall rating to drop even more. Additional Details: I’m already in my third season, and this issue makes Player Career Mode completely unplayable. At this point, playing is no longer fun because progression is broken. EA needs to fix this issue instead of ignoring it. Many players are experiencing the same problem, and we deserve a response and a patch. This is a serious bug that ruins the game mode, and I hope EA acknowledges it and provides a solution !2.7KViews10likes4Comments65% Play-style + Issue Player Career
Hello, I simply want to address a long standing issue with a career mode aspect of the game. To put it simple, achieving a 65% personality trait to obtain a playstyle + in player career has deemed somewhat impossible for the “Heartbeat” and “Virtuoso” personality types. A readjustment to the percent total would be highly suggested to being able to achieve those rewards of the game. Possibly 60% being a new and realistic objective to reach. This has been a major issue throughout the release of FC25 game and many in game seasons played. Please consider, thanks.1.8KViews2likes1CommentFIX PLAYER CAREER MODE
I know not many people play this mode, but as someone who does, I am pretty disappointed with it. Firstly, gameplay wise the AI is terrible. Passes are not good enough, and player IQ is just in the gutter. Both the AIs on each team are great going forward, and a lot of matches tend to be really dry. Make the AI more threatening attacking-wise, with better offensive awareness. Also, the archetype system does not suit this mode. For Clubs, sure, it makes sense. But for this mode, the restrictions just make no sense to be part of an offline mode. For example, if I want to be a 6'3" midfielder, I need to be the recycler archetype. What if I wanna be a maestro but also be 6'3"? It is really limiting, and in an offline game mode, it makes ZERO sense to limit players as if it were clubs. Also, not being able to change height or position or weight after starting is poor as well. Why are we given fewer features than in previous games? Also, the personality system is not great. The last few years it took so long to get a playstyle plus. Now it'll be nearly impossible because training sessions do not give personality points. I was hoping a feature would be added where players could choose whatever playstyle they wanted; they just needed a specific overall. This is much better because players actually get to choose from the pool of playstyles which suit them most. Go back to the skill tree and seriously tweak or remove the personality system. Player progression is so slow this year, too. Even when I selected to have a head start on points, I still did not crack 80 by the end of the first season. I have not been called up to the national team despite having crazy GA and winning trophies as well. Makes no sense again. This year player career feels so much like clubs in terms of gameplay and also with all the features and extra stuff. It's probably not going to be fixed, but I am disappointed with how it has rolled out this year.1.6KViews5likes4Commentsfix ballon dor in fc 26
Hi EA team, I’ve been playing Player Career Mode in FC 26 and just had the season of a lifetime: Club: Borussia Dortmund Season stats: 91 goals scored across all competitions Trophies: Won the treble (league, domestic cup, Champions League) Player OVR: 79 Despite this, my player was not even seriously considered for the Ballon d’Or. Instead, it went to a 90+ rated AI player with much lower stats and fewer trophies. This feels really unfair and takes away from the immersion of Career Mode. In real football, a season like this would guarantee a Ballon d’Or. The award system seems to prioritize overall rating far more than actual performances and achievements. Suggested improvements: Make goals, assists, and trophies weigh more heavily than OVR in the Ballon d’Or algorithm. Allow lower-rated players who massively outperform top stars to actually win. Improve transparency so we know what matters most for awards. Career Mode is at its best when it feels authentic and rewarding. Right now, the Ballon d’Or logic doesn’t reflect that. Please consider adjusting it in a future patch/update. Thanks for reading and for continuing to improve the game.1.5KViews3likes1CommentEAFC26 Career Mode Wishlist

🎮 EA Sports FC 26 Feedback – Player Career Mode Task System Issue: In Player Career Mode, the task selection screen does not clearly show which personality trait (Maverick / Heartbeat / Virtuoso) will develop. The color indicators are unclear, so players often choose tasks without knowing their effect. As a result, the personality progression becomes unbalanced, and most of the time the system forces the player into “Maverick” points unintentionally. Requests: Make the personality indicators consistent and clear (e.g., Maverick = red, Heartbeat = blue, Virtuoso = green). Show explicitly on each task which personality trait will be affected. Allow more balanced and player-controlled personality progression. Improve the tasks by reducing repetitive ones and adding more realistic, diverse objectives. Expected Impact: Players can steer their personality development as intended. The system will feel fairer, clearer, and more immersive. Player Career Mode will become a much more satisfying and realistic experience.1.1KViews3likes1CommentPlayer Career Mode Is Unplayable Because of Horrible AI Teammate Behavior
TL;DR: When controlling a single player AI teammates constantly turn over possession making irrational passes panicking in possession, and they take senseless shots, while CPU opponents play like a coordinated team. This creates a massive imbalance and ruins immersion. This has been happening for years and I am fed up. It’s a more glaring problem now. The biggest issue is the AI teammates when you’re controlling a single player. They play like they are being controlled by a toddler who has no idea what they are doing. There is no logic, no structure, and no awareness. Before I proceed I’m not sure, but for context I play LW (left wing) as this issue might differ slightly depending on the position you play on the pitch. My teammates, especially the midfielders will make a run toward the touchline with the ball and then make weird desperate diagonal passes straight to the opposition. They play like they are in a panic all the time. In general in almost every situation they make desperate do or die passes when there are better and simpler obvious options right in front of them. When they receive the ball in midfield they immediately start drifting toward the touchline for no logical reason, almost like they’re programmed to run sideways instead of driving the play forward or driving the play in a logical manner. And then, out of nowhere, they’ll launch this awkward, desperate diagonal pass sometimes while off balance or even while falling straight into the feet of the opposition. It’s just horrible decision making. Not only for that scenario, but like I said in general when they get the ball, they treat it like hot potato, making hasty, rushed passes with zero composure. It’s so weird that it actually becomes comical to watch. Sometimes they just make blind passes like who are you passing to? And besides these hasty nonsensical passes like they’re panicking for no reason, what makes it worse is they are obsessed with forcing the ball to me at all costs (losing the ball in the process), even when there are better passing options all around. Like, can we actually play as a team? There are other players on the pitch too. It shouldn’t feel like I’m the only target in every buildup. Furthermore strikers will consistently take horrible shots with their back turned to goal. They take desperate and ridiculous shots from awkward angles where there is no chance of scoring. They get the ball with their back to goal, space is tight, and instead of recycling possession they force an off balance shot that was never going to work. It is weird. It is strange. It makes no sense. And they do the same with passing too. Instead of finding an easy pass back they force something dumb. They get the ball anywhere in or near the box even with their back to goal, surrounded by defenders and instead of making a smart pass or holding play, they just blast a random shot. It’s like they don’t process what’s happening around them. Meanwhile, the CPU opponents play like they’ve got an actual playbook. They build out intelligently, press well, and move as a unit. They play intelligently, press with purpose, and control the rhythm of the game like a real team. It creates a massive imbalance where I’m forced to run around doing everything myself because my teammates are functionally useless. I have to overcompensate, running all over the pitch to drag my team forward because my teammates simply do not play at the same level. I play left wing but I am forced to abandon my position, drop deep, and carry the ball, force passes myself just to progress the attack. It should not be my job to play creator, controller, and finisher all at once because my teammates are useless in possession. This is not one or two bad matches. It is every match. And the fact that this has been going on for years and is now somehow even worse is frustrating. It is actually hard to believe that anyone genuinely play tested this game mode before release. It is ridiculous. It is absurd. Please fix this. Career Mode is supposed to feel immersive and rewarding. Instead, it feels like dragging a team of clueless NPCs through “90 minutes” of chaos. Please fix all this. Smarter AI teammate logic, better AI teammate decision making would completely change the mode.900Views4likes4CommentsStop Forcing Women’s Football into Career Mode
I do not support the inclusion of women’s football in Career Mode — especially not in the men’s youth academy. This feature ruins the authenticity and realism of the game and completely kills the immersion for players like me. We bought this game to enjoy a realistic football management experience, not to be part of a forced diversity agenda. You’re pushing features that your core community never asked for, and worse, you’re not even giving us the option to turn them off. That’s disrespectful to your loyal players. This isn’t about hate. It’s about choice. If you want to include women’s football, fine — make it separate and optional. Forcing it into the core gameplay of men’s career mode is unacceptable. If this continues in FC 26, it will be the last EA football game I ever buy. Sincerely, [A player who’s had enough]899Views4likes1CommentFc 26 Player Career Mode problems/solutions
I’m creating this thread as I do not see a future where this game mode is fixed (Player career mode) not manager career mode. I’m fairly sure this mode is hardly tested or at all before release each year. The problems remain the same and this year seem to have gotten worse. To those making creative decisions these are my suggestions, should you ever be inclined to actually make changes. Most importantly, stop forcing us players into not being able to be creative with our play-styles. The whole personality system is absolute garbage, why do I need to be a heartbeat as an attacker to have technical dribbler? Why do I then need to be a virtuoso to have quick first step? Why stop us from having both, why can I not create the character I want to play as? You know, the point of the **bleep** mode. Get rid of the personality system as a whole just have us unlock new play-styles based on level the same way it is in clubs it’s not more immersive it’s just handcuffing us from being the type of player we want to be. This isn’t even touching how this year you’ve removed play style points from training, making attaining 65% in a play style type next to impossible (It is impossible if you play long games like I do). This system has to be removed in FC 27 it’s infuriating. On the point of play-styles stop blocking certain playstyles based on positions, I should be able to have finesse shot as a midfielder or anything for that matter it’s a fantasy player. Archetypes are fine, think they shouldn’t be positions based again as a CAM or LM should be able to have a Ronaldinho archetype after all he played those positions but whatever I’m more concerned with play styles but if you wanna be perfect, then don’t handcuff those to positions either. This year you removed xp from training, no idea why. It’s now far too slow to level up. After playing my first season (No sim) I’m a level 82, but broke multiple records won ballon do’r the following December yet I’m an 82. This looks dumb and ruins immersion, last year was a perfect xp system I don’t know why it was changed. Finally, stop all the major transfers. It’s ridiculous. After one transfer window there’s 4 of the top 30 players in the world going to bizarre clubs (Foden to Newcastle, Raphinha to City) and these both happened before my first season even started. This breaks all immersion as it’s way too many transfers of top players way too often. I’m aware this is wishful thinking but I’m posting this as no one seems to test this mode and it seems the player base leave no feedback so here it is, do what you will with it.852Views5likes3CommentsCreate a Player Age/Birth Year
I enjoy creating players in EAFC and using them as pre-loaded youth academy products for my career modes. Since 2022 the latest birth year you could use for creating a player was 2005. In Fifa 22 this meant that player was 16 going on 17 at the start of the save. In FC26 the latest date is still 2005. This means that the youngest player we can create is 19 going on 20. It's 2025, and we have players fully establishing themselves in world football as teenagers very regularly. Lamine Yamal, one of the world's best players, was born in 2007. There are dozens of players in the game multiple years younger than the players we can create, and for some reason this setting is being gatekept. This is frankly an astounding level of ineptitude and laziness from EA. The idea that loyal FIFA/EAFC players have been noting this exact concern in these forums for years only to be ignored is truly maddening, especially for what is surely such an unbelievably simple fix. This series grows more and more pathetic and unplayable with every passing year. Please listen to your players for once and make an obvious fix to improve your product. It's easier than you think to not be this petulant and greedy.699Views4likes6Comments
