Life by You vs. Sims 5 (Rene)? Rod Humble and Paradox's Life Simulation Game
Rod Humble, a former real-life Sims executive and Sims 2 NPC, is reportedly working on a life simulation game since 2018. For context, Paralives started development in the same year. The most publicly-available details of the project can be read in this excellent profile, though it is light on specifics. A few days ago, Rod on Twitter announced he's going off social media for a few months to intensely work for an important time in the game. The tweet is here. The text is as follows: Taking another break from social media & community my friends. Nothing bad, just clearing my mind to focus on an important time for the game. I hope some of you will be future customers and my focus is on delivering a great game to serve you. Love you all, seeya in a few months. I think he could be gearing up for a first announcement or teaser of the game. What do you guys think? I'm very excited. Would you guys buy Sims 5, this new competitor, or both? Hello, all simmers! I wanted to create a new topic on what sims 5 " Project Rene" should have included. Feel free to state your ideas! Sims 5 should have: - no loading screens between neighbourhoods - cars/bicycles that work - More pets with more interactions ( hamsters don't just stay in the cage, can roam the house, snakes, birds, reptiles, monkeys that can sit on sim shoulders, horses, carriages. - No more sims strangers joining a conversation between playable sims - Height sliders -More animations, more romantic interactions and maybe unlocked secrets interactions - Make it harder for sims to become lovers just like in TS2 and TS1 - Sims can have different friendship bars and romance bars, for example, one sim can like a sim and the other can hate the sim; sim 1 likes sim 2 but sim 2 dislikes sim 1 - No more using the sink in the bathroom to wash dishes - teenagers look like teenagers - sims should have more life stages. infant, baby, toddler, child, pre-teen, teen, young adult, adult, elder - Halloween, trick or treat, costumes, Christmas etc - Mosques and churches, sims should introduce a religion that we can pick in make-a-sim. For example, a Muslim sim cannot have an intimate relationship before marriage sims should have more "self-rules" - Arranged marriages not based on romance but family reasons, sims can ask family for a " hand in marriage" - Abortions and being able to put a baby up for adoption - Risky woohoo - Not every sim should get happy about being pregnant, make us choose how the sims feel about it - Teen and adult romance. Let's be real how many of you wanted your teen to have an adult BF/GF? - Teen pregnancies, it would make sense since most birth rates are from teens - If a teen got pregnant parents can choose whether to support, accept or be mad - More career options - No more rabbit holes, please EA - More professions such as hairdresser, spa, firefighter, and singer like TS3 - Option to choose the sim's sexuality in create-a-sim like Gay/lesbian/bi and straight. If one sim is straight and the other is gay, the straight sim will refuse any romantic interactions - Sims can own a shop and run the shop such as a clothing shop a coffee shop a restaurant, a grocery store etc - Vacation destinations, china, Paris, India, the middle east, Tokyo, islands, resorts etc - Like TS3, be able to own and build your resort, club, lounge, park etc - Acting career, with no rabbit holes, actually be able to interact and become a celebrity - Small interactions add a huge amount of realism to the game and there are many that we miss. Who would like to see the return of cuddling in bed for instance? - Dating preferences. I have a lot more to include but I don't want to make this too long. Thanks for reading! What would you like to see in sims 5?11KViews9likes62CommentsProject Rene computer specs?
Hi, I know project rene is early in the making but im just wondering if anyone knows what specs you need to have to run the game? Im saving up to a new computer, and in the sneak peek it looked like it had really good graphics so I want to be sure that the computer im getting can keep up with the game even on higher graphic settings..10KViews1like11CommentsTwitter Reacts to Project Rene

Even if you want to claim that you dont want The Sims to be just like real life, thats cool and that isnt the point. That isnt really the argument im making here either. Its about just how little effort has been made to actually make the games an immersive and fun experience. In sims 3 there were imaginary movie theaters. And our sims would disappear inside to have popcorn and watch movies on the big screen while you waited outside. And Imaginary diners where sims would teleport to their booths and have all this pretend food and you would imagine them being inside and having this great time. There were also Imaginary spas, where your sims would go to treat themselves to saunas and back rubs, but you couldnt get a peek inside. And make believe sports arenas where sims sat back with hot dogs and refreshments and watched games you could never see. And even imaginary tombs at the graveyard where sims would go inside and become spooked by something scary. But you had to imagine what it might be. I think that so far, the sims games have failed to be proper life simulations at all. And if Sims 5 is more of the same, what is the incentive to shell out the money for it? After I have already invested literally hundreds of dollars on Sims 4 and if you combine Sims 1,2,3 and 4 over the years thats well over $1000 of content just to be able to do the same stunted imaginary play in each new game. Rabbit holes, should be optional, for those who want less .But those of us who dont want to imagine and pretend our way through a game that calls itself a life simulation, we should have the chance to play a game where all of the activities can be actively participated with by the player. And OPEN to us. In sims 4 it has been announced that one of the new water activities it just a rabbit hole. Why is it that we are still being forced to play in such a closed off manner? You have those who dont mind rabbit holes and thats okay. But what if I dont want just another building shell to run off too. It should not be on me the player, to imagine things. I dont want that, I want to be a part of the gameplay. I need more for Sims 5 in order for me to actually buy it, because im not buying a 5th title for the same tired and rehashed experience. There is honestly no reason to even create a new title , if you're not going to innovate and expand to new heights you've never before reached. Us original simmers are getting older now. Sims 5 should be a new sims experience.Allow us to have more openness and more gameplay abilities than we ever had before.3.8KViews1like155Comments
