Battlefield 6 Is Fun, But It Lacks the Identity That Defined Battlefield
I want to start by saying that Battlefield 6 is enjoyable on a basic level. The game functions, matches can be fun, and there is clearly potential here. However, I find myself unable to play it with the same excitement or immersion that I had with earlier Battlefield titles such as BF3, BF4, BF1, and even BF5. Those games had a clear identity. BF6, in its current state, does not. Loss of Battlefield Atmosphere Previous Battlefield games excelled at making you feel like you were part of a large-scale war. The sound design, environmental chaos, and overall atmosphere made every match feel intense and immersive. Explosions felt dangerous. Gunfire was loud and overwhelming. You felt like your life mattered because the battlefield around you felt alive. In BF6, that sense of atmosphere is largely missing. Map Design and Scale The maps in BF6 feel small, flat, and lacking personality. None of them feel especially memorable or distinct. In older titles, maps had character—whether through dynamic weather, destruction, verticality, or visual storytelling. BF6 maps feel more like generic arenas than believable warzones, with little environmental detail or variation to make them stand out. Weapon Feel and Combat Feedback Weapons in BF6 lack distinction. Many guns feel and sound too similar, which removes the satisfaction of learning and mastering different weapon types. Explosions are particularly underwhelming; they lack force, weight, and meaningful audiovisual feedback. When something detonates nearby, it doesn’t feel powerful or threatening, which greatly reduces the sense of danger and intensity. Lack of Environmental Realism One of Battlefield’s biggest strengths has always been environmental immersion. In past titles, explosions kicked up dirt, debris, smoke, and chaos. Mud, dust, and destruction made combat feel raw and physical. BF6 lacks these details. The world does not react convincingly to combat, which makes everything feel sterile and disconnected. Weapons, Gadgets, and Customization The overall selection of weapons and gadgets is disappointing. Battlefield used to offer a wide variety of tools that enabled creative and tactical gameplay. BF6 feels stripped down by comparison, with fewer gadgets and fewer meaningful customization options. Progression also feels unrewarding, and unlocking weapon skins and attachments is unnecessarily tedious. Characters and Visual Direction The character design significantly hurts immersion. Battlefield traditionally featured grounded, anonymous soldiers that felt like they belonged in a warzone. BF6 instead leans heavily into flashy characters with bright, unrealistic camos and gear that feels completely out of place. Many characters resemble stylized operators with novelty masks rather than soldiers in an active military conflict. This visual direction clashes with Battlefield’s legacy and undermines the tone of the game. Vehicles and Vehicle Controls Vehicles have always been a core pillar of Battlefield, but in BF6 they feel frustrating rather than fun. One of the biggest issues is the control scheme. Why were the vehicle controls changed so drastically from past titles? Previous Battlefield games had intuitive, well-understood controls that worked across tanks, helicopters, and aircraft. In BF6, configuring vehicle controls is overly complex and unintuitive. I am months into the game and still cannot get my tank and helicopter controls to feel right. Because of this, vehicles feel inaccessible and unenjoyable, which removes a major part of what made Battlefield unique. Presentation and Pre-Game Animations The pre-game animations feel exaggerated, cartoonish, and unnecessary. They clash with the serious tone Battlefield has historically aimed for and immediately pull players out of the experience before a match even begins. Closing Thoughts Battlefield 6 has a solid foundation, but it feels like a step backward in terms of identity, immersion, and atmosphere. Battlefield was never just about shooting—it was about scale, chaos, realism, and feeling like you were part of something larger. Right now, BF6 lacks that soul. I truly hope DICE listens to feedback and steers the game back toward what made Battlefield special in the first place.Make A SOLO MODE!
Im literally gonna be done playing this game if we dont get a solos mode. Im soooooo tired of getting teammates that either dont help and just watch me shoot while they scratch there @$$ or they full on run halfway run across the map. THIS IS A TEAMWORK GAME.....but no teamwork is ever implemented unless you got a squad you invited. I downloaded this game to have fun and play not BABYSIT. SO WE GETTING A SOLOS MODE OR NO?LISTENING TO STREAMERS, YOU LOST BASE PLAYERS, WHAT DO YOU HAVE LEFT NOW?
You lost your player base because of your ridiculous patch that only brought harm. You lost your player base because you listened to COD streamers instead of BF veterans. You had a good game and you destroyed it over and over and over again. The veterans now have families and don't want to help and make themselves heard to fix the game. We can't take it anymore. You pretend to give a voice to the players but you don't listen to anything. You don't want it to be called COD 2... and what should I call a laser tag game with recoilless guns that you can only win if you have a better PC? I remember as a kid finishing my homework and immediately jumping into BF... now I've lost all desire to play it.336Views13likes25CommentsMake 4 Players to start Portal Matchs instead of 20
I was wondering if these are even being seen by these devs but here it goes anyway. MAKE THE COUNT 4 PLAYERS TO START NON BOT FILLED PORTAL SERVERS! 20's to high, like the dev team when they implemented this in on season 1. Change it back to 0 or 4 would even be more doable but 20 isnt. Heck we need 8 for playing with bots but I hate Bots. Its an unfair advantage on the players end and I dont think thats fair to the player base.Battlefield Redsec BR Suggestions/request
Getting straight to it Can we get a snow/partially snow update for the Battleroyal map Ideas: There are 4 classes each class would get certain perks that you would choose from instead of charging XP to get perks/ perk XP charge. you can only equip specific perks from each class. you can only pick one unequipped class just like Apex Support class would be able to provide one Armor plate each time when supply box dropped with a cooldown timer let’s say Xp charge or some tokens/coins to get teammates back or some other system to get teammates back instead of only one time redeploying towers or waiting 25/30 sec to get teammates back Tanks/ no Tanks Playlist Feel free to suggest/drop any ideas that you think would be a good change for Battleroyal map or any ideas for a better system/flow. Cheers.1 Player start suggestion
I know there is a lot of debate about player start numbers and XP in portal. I wish to suggest 1 player start on any portal experience or in the server browser. With 1 player start limit the XP to 10% of the Full XP. As players join add 10%XP per player joining until 10 or more Real players have joined. So full XP for 10 players in a server. If there are only 3 players, the server will award 30% of the Full XP experience. As of right now there are a bunch of servers that remain empty that I and others would like to play either by ourselves or with just a few friends. To me this seems like a fair compromise to end the PVP AI debate with XP. I think Mastery and challenges should be awarded with the same kind of XP system. PVP players would get Full XP and single player types who love PVE would get 10% of the Full XP experience. This to me is a fair solution. The game would play about the same for both groups of people. Open for discussion and I hope that the player start minimum can be reduced to 1 in the near foreseeable future. Thank you for your time.Weapon Xp
If yall could maybe patch the ACTUAL game breaking glitches and bugs not just XP farms along with adding a way to play ACTUAL HARDCORE like bf4. not this codtard gormless smeagle mommys basement modes you have. maybe even make it so I dont have to grind this day day in day out after work every day just for a scope. I thought this was battlefeild not cod. at first i thought it was better than 2042. but its on the same level. ill just go arma. at least your blackrock campaign didnt take that from us. dont doubt itll be long till it turns to cod as well. DO BETTER. YOU WERE ONCE BETTER THAN THIS. YOU WERE THE GRANDPA. NOT JUST THE LITTLE CRAPSTAIN THAT SOLD HIS FARM AND TURNED IT INTO CONCRETE.
