I would LOVE a new sewing hobby/skill for the game. Ability to both mend clothes and also create new pieces from "patterns" Multi step menu similar to Crystal Creations. Choose a pattern (clothing, quilt, other decor item like a pillow or window curtain, pet bed) Choose fabric(s) Choose embellishments For clothes, obviously you'd want to be able to add to wardrobe and wear. For quilts, it would be amazing to be able to hang them as wall art or put them on a bed or sofa. Ability to sell all creations Heirloom eligible Potential collab with fabric and pattern designers I'd really like to see a LOT of customization options for patterns and fabrics (i was so disappointed by the lack of options in the Pottery skill tbh)47Views2likes5CommentsPet Salon Business Idea!
The expansion pack Businesses & Hobbies, should allow us to do more with pets and animals. I would love it if we could run our own pet salon. Sims with pets could ask for a certain hairstyle or give our sim the ability to freely customize however they like. For example, painting on the pets using the paint mode in CAS or letting our Sim surprise us with an option called "Freestyle" or "Freestyle CAS" for paint mode. Our Sim could learn new haircuts for each animal separately; the more we work on a certain animal, the more we will unlock for that animal. Sims with pets could also ask for certain grooming they want done for their pet besides fur styling. Some options could be bathing, de-shedding, ear and teeth cleaning, cutting nails, and brushing. Our Sims who run a pet salon would have to buy the right tools. Maybe cheaper tools don't work as well, and more expensive ones work best. The same would go for pet bathing stations and grooming tables. New CAS options could be grooming aprons and paint stencils for pets, kinda like the tattoos for Sims. New fur options and clothing options for pets as well. A new skill our Sims could learn could be Pet Grooming or Fur Stylist. That's all my ideas! Especially baseball uniforms, because I'm making Twilight, and I think it's only appropriate for them to wear baseball uniforms as their active wear. But also, because I want my sims to look like they have active hobbies. I need to tell at my son to take off his stinky football uniform, post after school football practice. It's essential to my immersion.25Views1like0CommentsCross-Platform DLC Transfers for The Sims 4
Dear Reader, As a dedicated Sim player for over 18 years, I genuinely love and enjoy the game. While I've occasionally been frustrated by some updates (or the lack thereof), nothing has been more disheartening than the inability to transfer purchased packs across platforms. I currently play on PlayStation but have been considering switching to PC/Mac for greater convenience, especially when traveling. However, I was shocked to discover that the significant investment I've made in The Sims 4 content—over $1,400 across expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits—would not carry over to a new platform. This limitation is both frustrating and discouraging for loyal players like myself. What is the point of having an EA account if it doesn't provide the flexibility to access purchased content across platforms? The idea of repurchasing the same DLC content for another $1,400 is unreasonable and alienating to devoted fans. Allowing cross-platform pack transfers would offer more advantages than drawbacks: Player Loyalty and Customer Appreciation: The Sims franchise thrives on its passionate and loyal player base. Allowing cross-platform pack transfers would show that EA values and appreciates its most dedicated players. Increasing Player Engagement: Players are more likely to engage with the game on multiple platforms when their content carries over. This flexibility enhances the player experience, encouraging greater long-term involvement in the game. Consistency with Industry Trends: Cross-platform play and transferable purchases are becoming industry standards. Major gaming companies such as Epic Games, Microsoft, and Ubisoft have embraced this model, making it easier for players to access their content across different devices. EA should follow suit to remain competitive and player-focused. Convenience for Players on the Go: Gaming isn't confined to a single device anymore. Many players, myself included, would love to play The Sims 4 while traveling or on road trips by simply hotspotting a laptop to a phone. Without cross-platform content, this becomes nearly impossible for console players. Protection Against Piracy: The current system inadvertently encourages players to seek unauthorized ways to access their paid content on other platforms. Offering a legitimate solution for transferring packs would reduce the incentive for piracy. Increased DLC Sales: Players who have the flexibility to use their packs across platforms are more likely to continue purchasing new content rather than feeling alienated by platform restrictions. Improved Customer Satisfaction: Happy customers are more likely to recommend the game and remain loyal to the franchise. Allowing pack transfers would address a significant pain point for many players, fostering a more positive relationship with the EA brand. I understand that some might argue I should simply remain on PlayStation, but it's not always practical. Being able to hotspot my laptop during travel and play like so many other players would be a game-changer for me. I appreciate the hard work the team puts into developing new content, and I'm more than willing to continue supporting The Sims series financially. However, I cannot justify paying twice for the same content. Loyal fans deserve a better solution. I sincerely hope EA will consider addressing this issue and providing a solution that benefits the entire player base. Thank you for your time and for listening to this long-time player's concerns. ~ Haley92Views3likes26CommentsThe Sims 4: Stage & Screen Stuff Pack (Idea)
"Bring the spotlight home — and become the star of every stage." Overview This pack transforms the Acting skill into a dynamic, multi-discipline system, seamlessly blending singing, dancing, musical performance, and physical acting into a versatile career path. Whether your Sim dreams of becoming a musical sensation, action hero, dramatic icon, or cult film favorite, this pack enables them to train like a star, specialize like a pro, and perform like never before. Key Features Acting Specializations (Unlocked at Acting Level 6): Choose a career focus that determines your Sim’s ideal gigs: Musical Performer – Excels in singing, dancing, and expressive roles. Action Star – Leverages fitness and dancing for stunt-heavy or heroic gigs. Dramatic Virtuoso – Combines violin, piano, and emotional depth for powerful performances. Cult Classic Icon – Specializes in horror, gothic, or supernatural gigs (benefits from Pipe Organ or Vampire Lore). Comedy Performer – Relies on comedy and charisma for sitcoms and commercials. Each specialization offers: Unique gig opportunities. Relevant skills that enhance performance. Role-specific perks and bonuses. Fans and audience reactions tailored to your Sim’s "type." Experience longer, multi-day gigs that reflect real film productions. Expanded Skill Integration: Acting now benefits from a variety of performance and expression skills. The more your Sim trains, the better their gigs will go: Singing Dancing Piano / Violin / Pipe Organ Fitness Charisma and Comedy This makes Acting the most comprehensive, performance-driven skill in the game. Movie Hangout Integration: (If you own Movie Hangout Stuff) Your Sim’s starred films become watchable movies. Watching their own movies grants unique moodlets (pride, cringe, joy). Host viewing parties and screening nights. Townies may recognize your Sim: "Hey, I saw you in that movie!" New Items: Costumes, stagewear, and dance gear. Vintage gowns and theatrical makeup. Action hero attire. Film set props (clapperboards, green screen, director’s chair). Portable keyboard and digital microphone. Stage object for kids and teens to "rehearse" and build confidence. Why a Stuff Pack? This pack isn’t a massive expansion but a focused, skill-enhancing addition designed to elevate the replayability of Acting, Singing, and Dancing. It seamlessly integrates with existing packs (Get Famous, City Living, Movie Hangout Stuff) while delivering impactful gameplay for performance-driven Sims. Perfect For: Players seeking more depth in the Acting career. Fans of musical theater, action films, or period dramas. Simmers who love blending creative and social skills. Roleplayers and storytellers. Anyone who feels the Acting career lacks variety over time. Would you want this pack? What features would you add?15Views0likes0CommentsB&H Pack Missout: Investing.
Feedback: Sims 4 Needs an Actual Stock & Bond System — Especially After "Business & Hobbies" Now that the Business & Hobbies Expansion is out, I have to ask: Why didn’t EA expand the Investor career or add a proper, skill-influenced stock/bond investment system? What’s in the Game Right Now: The Investor branch of the Business career gives passive weekly payouts, but this system has existed since Get to Work and was not updated in the new expansion. There’s no way to actively buy/sell stocks, manage bonds, or make risk-based financial decisions. No skill progression, logic/entrepreneur influence, or interactive UI. It’s a set-it-and-forget-it feature that’s completely static. What Should Have Been Included: We finally got a business-focused pack. This was the perfect time to give players a Simvestment system — one that could teach strategy, risk management, and smart money planning, especially for players who enjoy realism or rags-to-riches playthroughs. Here’s a proposed breakdown of what the system could look like: Investment Types: Government Bonds: Low risk, slow returns Basic Stocks: Medium volatility, skill-boosted High-Risk Stocks or SimCoin: Big potential gains/losses Skills That Affect Outcome: Logic Skill: Improves trend prediction Entrepreneur Skill: Boosts insight and investment success New “Finance” Skill (if added): Tracks long-term investing ability Gameplay Features: Portfolio panel on PC/Phone “Analyze Market,” “Buy,” “Sell,” “Hold” interactions Career tie-ins (Business/Investor) with new daily tasks Social interactions: “Discuss Portfolio,” “Brag About Stocks,” etc. Progression: Higher skill unlocks better investments Teens could join mock investing clubs, and maybe parents could teach children about investing, giving them higher mental stats and maybe an early logic or investment skill raise for going about that. Retired Sims could live off returns Why This Is Not Gambling: This isn’t a lottery or lootbox—it’s a strategic, skill-based mechanic that actually teaches money literacy. If EA can do: The Lottery Holiday in Seasons Voidcritter battles Retail ownership They can absolutely implement stocks/bonds responsibly, with limits, traits, and outcomes based on skills—not random luck. Final Thought: With Get to Work, High School Years, and now Business & Hobbies, there’s a clear demand for entrepreneurial gameplay. But Sims still have no way to simulate long-term wealth building unless you grind retail stores or freelance gigs. Let’s bring the Investor career to life with real tools and a real challenge. This would not only deepen gameplay—it could teach valuable real-world skills in a way only The Sims can. Would love to hear if others feel the same way—and if EA might consider this for a future update or financial systems pack.13Views1like0Comments
