Poll: How Do You Play The Sims 4 (Packs v Mods v Base Game)
Hey everybody, i was wondering as a newer player what most people's preferred playstyle is. Do you play with: Pure Base Game (No mods, no cc, no packs) Packs Only (Base Game + Packs, no mods or cc) Packs + Mods Base Game + Mods (Personally I play with Get to Work and Mods/CC) (Post your choice in the comments)706Views9likes37CommentsCan we PLEASE just stop updating and adding to the game.
The more updates you do the more it breaks the game. I mean seriously, this is the only game in history of games that takes updates to fix updates that was to fix a previous update. Can yall maybe focus on fixing the crap thats going on in game before rolling out all the money grabbing stuff. I love the Sims but I'm DONE!! I'll play offline from now on. I also feel like its even worse for us console players, like yall really don't care. I guess because of the buyout yall are tryong to take the franchise diwn at this point. 🤷🏻♀️ I just had to say my peace ✌️ and rant a little. This last update was the last straw for me! I have to click off pop ups for packs I already own, (and I own most of them so yall already have a ton of mobey from me) my gallery doesnt work even for my builds it freezes my game and I have to resart and then go through the 100 hour loading screen and clicking off the welcome to pack thong again. I dont even want to play at this point and started playing more Dreamlight Valley from Gameloft. Maybe take some notes EA/Maxis.1.1KViews9likes63CommentsThe Grove Pack Legacy Challenge (Updated 6-23-2026)
Hi and welcome to my return to sim story writing! I am doing my rendition of rosannatxt's "Pack Legacy Challenge." Below are links to Rosannatxt's Challenge and my story respectively. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Simming! I'm back after a hiatus! Generation two will be done rotation-style and in each of the three Grove sibling's perspectives. Enjoy! RoM, V, W , IP, L&D, EbN and GtW all have occults with limited occult specific CAS and Build/Buy. I'd love a stuff pack to flesh out and fill in the blanks for occults. Some of the occult CAS and Build/Buy are merely themed such as Victorian for Vampires and nature inspired for EbN for example. However, the occults themselves could have a larger range of occult specific themes. Edit: Would also highly benefit from Completely Disable Phone Feature & Alternate Computer Option | EA Forums - 12647073. Add missing occult ability trees for Mermaids and Aliens. PlantSims be a permanent occult with an ability tree. More traits that would help occult synergy (Mystical, Disruptive and Macabre are the closest occult friendly traits, if you want to discount the basic Good/Evil traits) Lot traits that encourage each or every type of occult to visit and a trait disallow all occults! Feathered and bat wings for Fairies or even Vampires (but be great if it could be any occult). Missing single bed, fridge, stove, etc. for EbN nature theme. RoM's The Iron Counter needs a cabinet counterpart (drives me nuts I don't have matching cabinets for my favourite counter). Small appliances for various occults/themes. Non-plant/flower nature themed CAS and Build/Buy. Air, fire and water/ice fairy themed attire and Build/Buy would be nice to have different elements Fairies. But these could also transcend to other occults such as Mermaids and Spellcasters. Something to do with Spellcaster all occult extra talent points! Edit, Mar 3rd, 2026: Practical Spellcaster's with Scruberoo use in when Hygiene is low (and/or use instead of "clean up/throw away"), Delicioso when Hunger is low, Floralorial for bugs/weeding, etc. autonomously. Mischief Spellcaster use Mischievous spells ons on disliked/despised Sims autonomously. I am not sure how easily Untamed spellcasters can use their spells autonomously. But at least Chillio for Fires! and Zipzap on disliked/despised Sims autonomously. More occult recipes and foods. I mean there is Soul Soup but it is from Level 5 Thanatology and Level 5 Cooking. As well as Curious Pizza and Alien Fruit Tarts for alien/U.F.O fruit recipes. But really more fantasy cuisine would be helpful for occult themed players. The ability to safely have Hybrid Occults without breaking the game, having multiple ability trees (at least 2). It be really nice if RoM had Glimmerbrook expanded to a 3 neighbourhood world. Maybe even for Vampires and Werewolves too. Alchemy, Herbalism and Apothecary recipes should be abled to be used in both the Cauldron and Apothecary Table. And ALL ingredients should be abled to be stored-linked to storage properly (having insects, frogs, metals, crystals (at least link the CCSP Gemology Table to pull from as recipes pull from the fridge), etc. not linked/stored together is very annoying to pull out of other storages). Familiars could be expanded, that they can change their moodlet buff, have interactions, etc. Add small pets fantasy creatures such as baby dragons. The ability to make any occult Immortal and stop aging. As a special trait. The ability to add the Grim Reaper or Father Winter to family tree (as parent) without breaking the game. More fantasy/alien plants. I love these and really cannot get enough of them. Tabletop Mini Cowplant, and Other Plant Ideas | EA Forums - 12786745 Edit, Apr 21st, 2026: Second form for Spellcasters. As they are suspected to be "disguised", and more Spellcaster type CAS/BB items. Vampire sire family trees (and the ability to edit them). Fairy option/quest/trait to be able to eat normal food to help emotional force. Or at least certain foods like honey, fruit, milk, or even flowers! etc. Turn off werewolf animal form (have have a secondary humanoid form instead to manipulate), I am sorry but the animal form weirds me out to no end, and can't play this occult because of it (I am sure there are mods but I'd prefer a official version so to not worry about game break mods when out of date mods are no longer kept up). If you are not going to add/update your packs where there is missing/wanted features CAS/Build/Buy. Just put it in a pack to expand the occult themes :) Edit, May 10, 2026: Steampunk spellcasters, dragon pets and clockwork familiars, orrery display/zodiacs, and herbalism/apothecary update/expansion. AI render image dump inspiration (my first time trying) lol Edit, May 28, 2026: Occult dueling alternative available option for R&L duels (so either occult or sword dueling). Differing occults dueling spellcaster vs. vampire for example. It would be nice too if certain occults get an advantage over another. Occult Lifestyles SE really could have helped occults act more like occults by earning occult lifestyles. Table Top/Counter Top Cauldron(s) for Alchemy/Apothecary/Herbalism, and Cooking Cauldron (at stove/fireplace/for grill) for Herbalism/Cooking/Grilling. Hoods, Cloaks and Capes for CAS! A non-hidden Realm of Magic World. The sky and lighting effects of the Magic Realm would be great to have as a normal world. It could be just like the Magic Realm with floating islands. We really need more all out fantasy worlds. Edit, May 29, 2026: Rune Marking and Glowing Rune Marking Decor for Floors and Walls. More/better Purple/Violet Swatches for BB. Ornate gold/wood/etc. panels (x1, x2, x3 sizes) as wall decor, so it can be overlayed on wallpapers/paneling/etc. Gold/silver/etc. and Crystal indoor and outdoor BB accent Decor (Art Deco, Victorian and Steampunk themes). Curved Bookshelves and Shelving/Storage Units (and more) for each size (and heights) of curved walls types. More Terrariums (various sizes and styles (and awesome if frogs/insects/butterflies could be displayed in it)), crystals, oddity jars, potion/alchemy clutter, etc. Pinned and Dried Butterfly Display decor, DaVinci styled diagram drawing decor, etc. Table Tarot (activity and/or decor (depending if you have L&D or not)) 3 card spread and Celtic cross spread. Can be placed on tables, desks and counters. Edit, June 18, 2026: I really think—if Sims 4 is winding down—we should get at least a slight update/refresh to occults patch. Even if it is just as a better compatibility (for non-breaking hybrids), more swatches (to occult BB), more occult themed BB and CAS, and some tweaks and upgrades/refreshes mentioned above. Plus for compatibility/attraction needs Mysterious Characteristic added (aka occults)—like what was in R&L ideals. A "kit" may not be enough, but it isn't like we really get full occult/fantasy kits either. So fingers crossed we get some gameplay and features updates/refreshes before the devs walk away from Sims 4, and maybe a few free BB/CAS and 1-3+ kits—so occult/fantasy themes seem more complete.845Views20likes28CommentsDlc gone after updating to Ps5 from a Ps4
Ever since i got an Ps5 in 2023 and downloaded sims into it, it shows that i do not own half of the expansion/gamepacks i once did. They don’t even show up in licenses when i go to check? Though if i go back to Sims4 on my Ps4, all of my packs are still there, yet they don’t simply show up as owned on my Ps5. Would be really nice to be able to play with the packs i have spent hundreds of euros on.SolvedAn Optional Subscription Model for The Sims 4
I have an idea that I believe could benefit both players and EA while helping The Sims remain competitive in the growing life simulation market. What if The Sims 4 offered an optional monthly subscription that granted access to all DLC while still allowing players to purchase and permanently own packs individually? This would not replace ownership. Players who buy packs would continue to own them forever. The subscription would simply be another way to access content. Benefits for Players - New players would not be overwhelmed by the cost of years of DLC. - Players could experience the full game immediately. - Console players and players who switch platforms would have a more affordable option. - Players could try content before deciding which packs they want to permanently own. - Families with multiple players could access content more easily. Benefits for EA - Consistent recurring revenue. - Increased player retention. - More players entering the Sims ecosystem. - Higher engagement across all content. - An opportunity to bring back former players who feel priced out of the current DLC model. Many players see the total cost of expansions, game packs, stuff packs, and kits and decide not to spend anything at all. A subscription would convert many of those players into paying customers. Competition Is Growing For many years, The Sims had little direct competition. Today, life simulation games such as Paralives and inZOI are entering the market and attracting attention from players who may have previously only considered The Sims. The Sims still has a major advantage: years of content, established communities, deep gameplay systems, and a franchise that millions of players already love. However, accessibility and pricing matter. A subscription model would lower the barrier to entry and make it easier for players to choose The Sims over competing life simulation games. Ownership Still Matters Players who have purchased packs over the years should continue to receive the benefits of ownership. They paid for permanent access and should keep that advantage. Subscribers would simply be renting access. Over time, many subscribers may choose to purchase their favorite packs outright, creating additional revenue opportunities for EA while giving players flexibility. Why I Would Subscribe I love The Sims and would subscribe immediately. I believe many players who currently spend nothing because the entry cost feels too high would do the same. An optional subscription would not replace ownership—it would expand access, increase player retention, and help The Sims remain the leading life simulation franchise for years to come. What do other Simmers think?54Views0likes2Comments
