Questions About Too Many Posts
I keep getting the messages "Content Not Published" and "You’ve exceeded the maximum number of posts you can publish. Try again later." when I try to publish a post. What exactly is the definition of a maximum number of posts? Are there so many posts in an hour, a day, a week? How long must I wait from my first failed attempt to try again? Can I reach a member level that allows me to make more posts than I have currently exceeded? Can I even post in the Technical Discussion if I have been shackled in the other areas of The Sims 3 forum?Yes. When can I expect to be able to post again? I would appreciate some clarification on the rules for this restriction. I don't find that to be excessive. However, I did do many minor edits of existing posts under both Marden and Forsythe posts. Is this a factor? Thanks! ~texansky- p.s. Not able to load any picture in this 'new' Forum
I am still not able, to load up any Picture in a Post or a PN. Every time, I get a red Inormation Box, that I would have done an Upload about 1000 pictures here and no more would be possible. But I've never done any picture in this new forum. I am not able for that since the Start oft this new forum. I also wrote about the problem in the german EA AQH and put some pictures of the problem there in, because here I cannot show the problem with any picture 🤷🏻♀️ ... They told me 'we are working on it'. Now some month later, the same problem is still existing. Other people are doing pictures in the new forum. Why I'm not able to do this?
No page loads, just "Internal Server Error"
Since this morning, anytime I try to visit anything anywhere in these forums normally, I only get a blank page with "Internal Server Error." (It worked fine yesterday, which is the first day I accessed the new forums.) Searching for the problem turns up at least one other person with the problem (thread 1, thread 2), and it seemed to happen when they had some kind of anti-tracking protection enabled. For me, I don't use AVG, but it seems to be related to some extension I have installed, since I can open these pages in an Incognito window (where most extensions are disabled). However, it's not AdBlock or Ghostery, since the forums still won't load with them disabled, and no other extension should be related in any way. I have Do Not Track enabled in Chrome, but that should apply regardless. This is absolutely egregious. There should be nothing I can do on my end that causes EA's site to throw a server error like this. And it certainly shouldn't still be happening months after it was first reported. The issue is happening for me in Chrome v130.0.6723.92 on Windows 11. (No issues on my phone in Chrome for Android v130.0.6723.74 on Android 13.) UPDATE: It's not an extension but something Chrome must otherwise be handling differently between regular and Incognito windows. I fully disabled every single extension from theextension management settings, and still all EA Forums pages only load as "Internal Server Error" in non-Incognito windows."Access Denied"/"This message cannot be found"
After posting a new thread about pages only loading as "Internal Server Error," I restarted my browser as part of my troubleshooting process. This meant I lost all the tabs that I had open to this forum, since I can currently only access it in Incognito mode. When I tried to navigate back to the new thread so I could update it with additional information, I found that: It was not shown on my profile, e.g., under "Most Recent" or "Newest Topics" I could only find it by going into the My Settings > Follows & Notifications, where it was listed under Follows However, attempting to click the link to the topic, I instead got a page titled "Access Denied" with the message "This message cannot be found" My guess is that this is possibly due to some sort of moderation filter/delay on posting new topics, but this is a terrible, terrible design. Even if posts aren't yet publicly visible, the users who created them should be able to navigate to them to edit or add to them. (I will add that when you make this your only way to report issues and get help, it's extra egregious to add a significant, noticeable delay to posts going live, particularly when you don't warn people it will happen. If I hadn't started digging around, I would have just assumed my post had disappeared and and submitted a second version of it.)
You've reached your limit for uploading images
Trying to post an image a few days ago I just got the message that I've reached my upload limit for images, and that I cannot post images any longer. What is even more surprising is that this applies to linked to images as well - even though they do not cause strain on the servers at all and is NOT uploaded to the servers. Just to be clear, I've cleared cash, logged out, logged in again and tried different threads as well as different images, and still the same result. This is not a temporary glitch. I've since read the rules very carefully and NO WHERE can I find the information that there is a limit to how many images I may upload or link to. With a community so based on pictures as the sims-community is this is make it or break it. I cannot take part in screenshot threads started by the gurus. I cannot upload images of my builds in threads asking for images. I cannot complete my projects of NoCC decades fashion. I cannot complete my story by using screenshots, nor start any stories in the future. In essence, I am unable to take part in a large part of what makes this community. EA_Cadeand EA_Nils I have written to you both privately on this matter and yet I get no answer. Is this really what it's supposed to be like?Limit of uploaded Image reached? What about PM?
Why I get every time the news 'limit of 1000 pictures reached', when I try to put a picture in the new Forum? The pic disappear at once . I've no picture done in this Forum. Why PM have spoiler? It is not nice to read the start and the end post, but not the text between. It is curios to read and communicate like that. Several Times I could not answer in the PM, because a box appeard, that I would have done enought news today (similar like the box for pictures). That stops communication for both people in PM. And I don't like the bottom frame, taking the half of the Monitor, while reading PMs. Nice: the colours and sizes for the text and the table for the posts. Also i like, how you can upload now pictures ... if they would stay in my posts 😉.
New Forum Oddity
Well, here's a new weirdness I have never seen before... I tried to click Like on a post and instead got a pop up of a brief user profile as if I had hovered over a random user's name or avatar (a random user who, as far as I could tell, had nothing to do with the post I was trying to Like). (I keep saying I'm walking away from these forums, but there are a few people and threads that pull me back.)
